CHAPTER START---

Stepping out of the line and biting into his sickeningly sweet pastry, Oberon takes a moment to relax and enjoy this reward before the numbing agent wears off.

"I should get some of these for the ship cr—"

"Oberon Alkwan!" Jura yells, interrupting him and causing everyone on the main street to stop and give him their attention.

Oberon takes another bite of his pastry, not daring to look at whoever called his name.

Jura then speaks in the local language, which Oberon couldn't understand. "Everyone, clear the street!"

People slowly scatter to the sidewalks and nearby buildings, and Oberon attempts to blend into the crowd.

Jura notices this and uses his Earth Magic, shifting the earth in front of Oberon to create a small wall, blocking his path.

Oberon sighs and looks at Jura, who is still staring at him. "C'mon man, it's been a long day."

"Clearly," Jura eyes his injuries, taking note of how only his left side seemed to need treatment. "But I'm sure you know why I am here."

Oberon walks toward the middle of the wide street, giving the civilians and buildings as much distance as possible without causing Jura to attack.

"You have something I need," Jura says, and some of the locals translate for their friends as everyone watches.

"Can we please talk this out?"

Jura is surprised by this. 'A Guild Wizard who wants to negotiate? And a Fairy Tail Wizard at that, quite odd. This must be some trick…'

"I just want to get home and take a long nap, like for a week," Oberon says.

"Then let's talk."

"Really?!"

Jura quirks a brow at him. "Is that not what you want?"

"It is, but…I never thought anyone would agree. Nobody ever does."

"That's because you often deal with Guild Wizards. I am a monk, studying under the Wizard Saint Aven Etis. We are much more reasonable."

"Yeah but, you guys are also wea—" Oberon stops as Jura's gaze narrows at him. "I mean, thank you for not immediately attacking. So, how can I help you?"

"Could you give me the tablet?"

Oberon frowns. "Anything besides that?"

"No."

"I can't do that, it's for a Job."

"Then tell me who your client is."

"Hell no. Failing a Job is one thing, but breaking confidentiality is a sin. Never going to happen."

"I see, then are we at an impasse?"

"It would appear so," Oberon takes another bite, slightly annoying Jura. "Can we please not fight here? I don't want to ruin these people's street, or homes, or hurt anyone."

"A Fairy Tail Wizard who cares about collateral damage," Jura chuckles. "It seems your Guild's reputation may be soured for no reason."

"I'm the exception," Oberon looks past Jura, to the port. 'This guy is blocking me. But he has his famous Earth Magic, so I can just fly past him, that should do it…'

"Had I known you were so reasonable, perhaps we could have taken a different approach, and not been so combative at the start. Sharing a meal together may have been enough to persuade you of a different path.

As the attacker in this battle. I, Jura Neekis, on my name as a disciple of Wizard Saint Aven Etis, take full responsibility for this battle. Do you have any requests before we begin?"

"Yeah, can you just leave me alone?"

"Unfortunately, we cannot do that."

Oberon narrows his eyes at Jura, stopping before taking another bite. "We?"

Deactivating his Invisibility Magic to appear within arm's reach at Oberon's right, one of Jura's allies casts a spell that forms green ropes and ensnares Oberon's right leg and arm, carefully avoiding his injuries.

"Seriously?" Oberon turns and looks up at the man, who he can see is conflicted about ambushing a child.

"Sorry. I did my best to avoid your injuries. My Binding Magic blocks your Magic Energy, but let me know if you're uncomfortable so I'll loosen it, alright?"

Oberon gives the man a bored look. "You're being nice, so I'm going to warn you. Get away from me, or it won't end well for you."

"Awe, you're so cute trying to act tough," the man laughs and nods to his friend approaching Oberon's left. "Search him, but be gentle. He must have the tablet in some kind of storage device, but we don't want to irritate his injuries."

"Yeah, I know what I'm doing," the man to his left says while walking over.

Oberon turns to Jura. "Anyone else here to ambush me?"

Feeling confident in this situation, Jura nods to a nearby rooftop, where Oberon sees the last man playing with a soft green flame on his fingertips and smiling at him.

'Earth Magic, Binding Magic, Green Flame Magic,' he turns to the man approaching on the left. 'Unknown, the most dangerous…'

As the man reaches Oberon and is about to start searching his pockets, Oberon tosses his pastry high into the air. It soars well past the nearby buildings, directly above him, and everyone focuses on it for a second.

In the second of confusion, Oberon turns to the man with unknown Magic and kicks him in the shin, shattering the bone. The man crumples to the floor, screaming his lungs out as pain wracks his body, and Oberon backhands the man with Binding Magic to the side.

He is well aware of Binding Magic also blocking the user's other Magics in most cases, and takes advantage of the usual deactivation time to strike. His tiny fist shatters the man's forearm and crashes into his ribs, breaking most of the ribs on his right side before sending him flying.

Before he could be launched away, Oberon turns to the man with the Green Flame Magic and points at him, firing a Light Shot directly at him.

The man is far enough to react, placing his hands together in front of him, palms overlapping, and firing a precise beam of fire at Oberon's attack.

Only for the golden light to pierce the fire Magic and skewer the man's palms, it then shatters his collar bone and exits his back, causing pain so intense his mind collapses from shock.

In this time, Jura had already cast his spell, sending a rising narrow tide of blunt rock columns at Oberon, devastating the flat street with a show of intimidating Magic.

Oberon turns to Jura's attack as it's already within arm's reach, allowing the rocks to shatter against his Barrier while he aims, pointing with one finger, and fires at Jura.

The Light Shot is fast, but Jura reacts before the spell is fired, raising a 3m -10ft- wide cube of rock in front of him with Earth Magic.

Before the attack reaches his defense, he performs his signature move, reinforcing the stone many times over, artificially increasing its density and toughness to that of iron.

'My Iron Rock Cube sh—' Jura's eyes widen as the Light Shot erupts from the other side of the cube, barely thrown off course as he leans out of the way.

It leaves a shallow cut on his cheek before disappearing behind him, and he casts a concerned glare at Oberon. Only to realize he couldn't see the boy, which would normally be fine, but he also couldn't sense him.

'What's going on with—' Once again, Jura is unable to complete his thoughts. But this time, instead of being attacked by a projectile, he's torn from the earth as gravity shifts from vertical to horizontal.

He braces himself as the gravity becomes many times more intense, slamming him into and pulling him through the Iron Rock Cube, shattering the structure against his body.

It is only thanks to his countless hours of training that he was able to undo the reinforcement upon impact, mitigating much of what would have been critical, life-threatening damage.

Jura erupts from the other side with many shattered bones and a broken nose, falling through the air toward Oberon. Through his blurry vision, he can just barely see Oberon's figure as he approaches, and the boy buries a tiny fist in his gut.

Jura doubles over around Oberon's fist as the gravity is reversed, launching him at a ridiculous speed back into the Iron Rock Cube. His body shatters what remains of it before he's sent skipping across the earth through the main street, all the way to the docks.

Oberon looks at the four broken men, and extends his hand, palm facing up.

Before anyone can make sense of what just happened, his pastry falls into his hand, and he begins walking to the docks.

Moments later, Jura wakes up, his entire body screaming in pain, head spinning as muffled concerned yelling echoes around him. Then he turns to his right, and sees Oberon walking past him, enjoying his sweet treat.

The boy glances down at him, barely sparing him a glance before continuing to the boat, and Jura, like many people, has their life changed because of an encounter with Oberon.

Realizing that dreams will only ever be a desire without a plan, and plans cannot happen without the power to support them. And now, without his mentor, he didn't have the power, the power to match a young Guild Wizard.

So he decides to change his path, and enter another stage of his life. One that would lead to many adventures and friends, some of which will be experienced alongside one of his greatest friends.

A fellow Guild Wizard, a S-Class, an Ace, a fellow Wizard Saint, Oberon Alkwan, King of the Fairies.
