CHAPTER START---

---Fex Kingdom, Ishgar…

The former King of the Fex Kingdom, Osian Moyer, sits on the highest balcony of his grand castle, overlooking the lively city below as the coronation festival continues into its third day.

Wearing simple but elegant clothes and now having traded his sword for a walking stick, he shivers at the feeling of cold evening winds flowing through his long white hair.

Taking a deep breath and embracing the warmth of the cup in his hand, he leans against the stone railing and enjoys the moment, even as a familiar Magic Energy Signature descends onto the castle.

And a moment later, an ever-cheerful voice breaks the peaceful silence of his isolated balcony.

"God hi hi!"

Osian sighs and turns around to see God Serena, the mightiest man on Ishgar, wielding power beyond the combined might of all his fellow Wizard Saints.

Osian sees the young man with fair skin, orange hair, and then scans across his nose approaching. His usual blue and white outfit traded in for a more traditionally formal suit in the same colors, clearly dressed for the party in the main hall.

"You almost missed the festival," Osian says as God Serena walks to the small table of refreshments set out for his afternoon tea. "Already missed the coronation ceremony."

"I'll go congratulate him later, I'm sure Rixian has a lot of diplomats chatting his ear off right now," God Serena sits at the table and helps himself to a plate of pastries, along with a cup of tea. "How is retirement treating you?"

"I raised my son too well, he's left me with nothing to do," Osian sits opposite his friend and continues drinking his tea.

"Mhm, and, his decision…not inheriting your position as Wizard Saint, that's quite the choice."

Osian sighs. "A foolish choice, but I can't really blame him. That title is irrelevant to the prosperity of the kingdom, and he's already told me there won't be any more expeditions from us."

"Yes, Chairman Seam showed me the letter he sent to the Magic Council. Can't say I'm surprised after how that last expedition went, a bit more help from them could have made the difference in your situation."

"I've already moved past this," Osian gestures to his aged body and white hair. "My son, he will need more time."

God Serena relaxes into his seat, enjoying his tea. "So much has happened on Ishgar while I was away. And I hear Avin will be in the grave soon, that boy Jura will be taking his spot…how shameful."

"Jura Neekis seems like a fine young man."

"But he's weak, just like Avin. Wizard Saint should be more focused on power, letting people like them in because of politics really ruins it for me."

"Always chasing power. When will you realize that line of thinking only works until you meet someone more powerful than yourself."

"No such person exists. And if they do, I'd simply learn from them to become even stronger."

Osian chuckles. "So similar, but so different."

"What do you mean?"

"The new Wizard Saint, Oberon Alkwan."

"Oh, him," God Serena scoffs. "King of the Fairies. Is he the same as Makarov? That man isn't weak, but those Fairy Magics hardly matter in a duel. I suspect the boy is using them to inflate his own power, yes?"

"Not at all."

God Serena raises a brow at that.

"The boy is strong even without those Magics. That's why he became a Wizard Saint at 12 years old. But, I don't think you'll find him interesting."

"Oh, and why is that?"

"His power is nothing like yours, which relies on your Dragon Lacrimas. He is simply innately powerful, so there isn't anything to learn from him."

God Serena frowns. "And I've heard his Magic is unique…what a waste. Well if fate brings us together I'll have a chat with him about it, but seeking him out would certainly be a waste of time."

"True, but I should tell you, he took on the Quest to seal away those Titans on the Southern Isles."

"That's a real shame. Someone with that much potential dying in that worthless place."

"I think you'd be surprised at the outcome. After all, not all Wizard Saints have the power to handle 35 Primordial Titans, and only a scant few of us have Sealing Magic that can lock them away. But that boy has both, so upon completion of that task."

"He'd prove himself to be stronger than most Wizard Saints…interesting. Makarov really found something special this time. But still, that Quest is a real pain in the neck. Talk about an endless fight marathon for no benefits, even the reward is worthless."

"For you, perhaps. But regardless, I'm sure it'll all work out. He's not as powerful as you are, but, for some reason, I just can't imagine Oberon losing…"

---Meanwhile, The Southern Isles, Titan Canyon…

One of the thousands of islands which make up The Southern Isles, is famously named Titan Canyon. It is massive in size and sinks into the ocean around it, as if a bowl were placed in the open sea and pushed down until the tides almost spilled into it.

The seawall is a mere few thousand meters tall mountain range around the perimeter. The depths of this canyon below are many miles below sea level, filled with lush green forests and flowing rivers, all accented by massive prismatic Lacrima Crystals jutting out of the ground like skyscrapers, ascending at all angles.

The ground beneath the grass boasts similar precious gems and minerals, all enriched by the soil of the most naturally Magic Energy infused location on the planet, boasting levels of Ethernano that surpass even Tenroujima, making it unsafe for civilians to enter.

However, this resource-rich area has been nothing more than a dream for the Southern Isles Magic Council, for the Primordial Titans rise from the earth at this location, basking in the immensity of the Magic Energy saturation of the area.

There are 35 Primordial Titans, each using a different world-shaping Magic. Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Movement, Fusion, and so many more. Each is difficult to defeat, and even harder to seal. They each become more powerful than the last, as they share an unbreakable link, even through any and all Sealing Magic short of Fairy Sphere.

Defeat one, and it will flow Magic Energy into the link, making the others stronger, thus the cycle continues. And every 30 days, the cycle resets. If all Primordial Titans are not defeated and sealed when the cycle resets, a surge of Magic Energy will flow through the link, and undo all the seals.

35 Primordial Titans, 30 Days, and failure means you must restart from the beginning. For this reason, even powerful Wizards would fail. An endless marathon of battles, even if you isolate many of the Primordial Titans.

But in this case, the Magic Energy in the air flows both ways. It empowers the Primordial Titans, and constantly refills Oberon's Magic Container.

His already absurd Magic Energy refills faster in this area, allowing him to tap into it in place of his stamina, a usually dangerous trade-off as processing your own Magic Energy can lead to death. But the flow of Magic Energy also allows him to constantly heal, enabling him to fight at full power for far longer than usual.

Allowing him to spend weeks 'training' with his 35 new friends.

All leading to the raging storm confined in the black clouds directly above the island, while far off into the horizon the clear skies and mid-day sun shine down on the rest of the Southern Isles.

Blue lightning bolts, as wide as a street, rip through the sky, saturating the entire island in the scent of ozone and charred air while carving a molten swath through the land below. Rivers are replaced by streams of molten earth, trees burn, filling the air with ash and smoke before heavy rains beat down on the island.

The many lightning bolts dance through the air, turning on a dime in mid-air before converging on a single point.

On the mountainous sea wall, members of the Southern Isles Magic Council observe the battle with a spyglass, seeing a golden light flash in the last moment before the lightning bolt crashes into it, causing an explosion that blinds them through the spyglass.

In the middle of the island, a large boulder amid a molten crater slowly trembles, before being violently launched hundreds of feet away.

"Seriously?" Oberon looks down at his burnt hands as he rises from the molten rock. Most of his clothes burnt away and destroyed over the weeks of endless battle, but his focus is on his burnt hands, particularly his left hand. "I just grew this back, I'm not in the mood to lose it again."

He takes a deep breath and focuses his Magic Energy. The burns on his body rapidly heal, as if they were never there. The markings on his right arm also reform after the skin returns, Fairy Glitter on his forearm, Fairy Law on his bicep, and Fairy Sphere on his shoulder.

They've now all merged into one large sleeve marking, melting with the initial Fairy Tail Guild Mark on the inside of his forearm, all in black against his fair skin.

Flowing some Magic Energy into it, the entire marking glows golden for a moment before returning to its dormant state, as the Right Arm of the Fairy King is only of use to protect Fairy Tail.

Oberon looks up at the storm clouds and frowns, running a hand through his soaked hair, and a moment later more massive lightning bolts descend, this time landing a few dozen meters away and merging into a 10m -30ft- tall humanoid figure made entirely of lightning.

Its head has a singular 'eye' made of white-hot plasma, staring directly at Oberon.

"You survived that," the Primordial Lightning Titan says, its voice echoing through the entire battlefield and raising static in the air. "What are you?"

"I'm Oberon, King of the Fairies," he says with a smile, forming the Fairy Tail symbol in his hand with Light Magic and spinning it on his finger. "Thank you for teaching me so much."

"Fairy? A new species? I thought you were human, but this makes more sense. A thing like you must be a new existence."

"Not really what I meant but…it's a lot to explain, so, whatever," Oberon shrugs and takes a combat stance, descending so his bare feet are seemingly standing on the molten ground. "Now, you taught me some new things, so let's test them out."

The Lightning Titan forms white plasma claws on its hands and disappears as many bolts of lightning.

"This again," Oberon rockets through the lush canyon, weaving through Lacrima spires and gargantuan trees while avoiding lightning bolts.

"King of the Fairies," the Lightning Titan's voice echoes through the battlefield. "King. Like Igneel. Like Elexion. Like Grandeeney. No wonder you're so strong. But my species was the first. Before the Dragons. Before the Humans. Before the Celestials. And we shall be the last, for we are tied to material existence itself. You, a King, on the cusp of transcendence as you title implies, cannot exist beyond yourself…"

'So the word 'King' has a different meaning, that must be what the Acid Dragon was talking about too…'

"Worldshaper's Storm Surge!" Bright blue light that outshines the sun consumes the island, and before Oberon can react, a Lightning Spear impales his left thigh, nearly slicing off his entire leg.

The Lightning Titan appears in front of him via Lightning Teleportation, but far more advanced than anything Laxus can currently dream of achieving.

Oberon instinctively releases the Boundless Cosmos, and the Lightning Titan instantly teleports away, losing track of the boy as he disappears in the trees.

The Lightning Titan hovers above the canyon, in the middle of the island. Claws ready, and a small arc of lightning dancing around them. While unable to sense Oberon, it uses Lightning like a net of tripwires, and the moment he touches an arc, it can instantly appear in front of him and strike.

"I am a storm you cannot weather, the first storm, accept your fate, King of the Fairies. Like many before you. Your transcendence stops at my feet." As its voice bounces off the far walls of the island, shaking the land, sea, and sky with each worth, a Lacrima Spire is sent hurtling toward it.

The Lightning Titan turns to face it, and with a thought, a bolt of lightning descends and detonates it in the air, sending shrapnel across the island, powerful enough to slice through trees and rocks.

But each piece of shrapnel merely passes through the lightning body, an innate defense that makes this particular being nearly impossible to hurt.

"My Magic is supreme," it raises one hand and begins gathering the arcs of stray power into its palm, forming a sphere of raging lightning before crushing it, sending waves out to cover the entire island.

In response, a surge of Magic Energy erupts directly below it, and Oberon rockets out of the ground toward the Lightning Titan.

It teleports out of his path before transforming into a bolt of lightning and racing toward him, intent on piercing him with its claws.

Oberon raises his hand, creating a square shield in front of himself, which the Lightning Titan decides not to interact with since it knows he has Sealing Magics.

It arrives in front of Oberon, claws outstretched to pierce his head, but to its horror, for the first time since its existence. It feels the physical touch of another being.

Oberon reaches up and grabs its hand, causing its form to unexpectedly become immutable for just a moment, and his free hand launches a punch directly into the titan's head.

Where a physical attack would normally be useless against a pure energy body, Oberon's small fist crashes into its now solid head with the force of a meteorite, confusing the being and sending waves of pain through it.

The event is so disorienting that it sent hurtling through the ground, body still unable to transform even after crashing into the earth, burning away grass, dirt, and trees while rolling across the battlefield.

Feeling another surge of Oberon's Magic Energy rocketing toward it, the Lightning Titan snaps out of its daze and transforms into a bolt of lightning, ascending to the sky, now being chased by Oberon.

"How did you do that?!" Its voice, for the very first time, carries a tinge of fear. Even Igneel, the Fire Dragon King, boasting flames that burnt away Magic itself, was unable to harm it. Elexion, the Lightning Dragon King, could not even harm it. And yet, it was fleeing from a 12-year-old boy. "This isn't possible! You, all you inferior beings, you exist to serve us. You should not be able to harm me!"

"There it is," Oberon's chilling voice echoes on waves of Magic Energy through the battlefield. "You're just like everyone else after all."

The Lightning Titan weaves through massive Tenroujima sized trees as a bolt of lightning, only for Oberon to dropkick it in the face, sending it crashing through a tree. It recovers quickly and continues running, desperately trying to figure out what's going on as he's rapidly catching up.

"Fire, Ice, Wind, Wood, and now, Lightning," Oberon says. "I've faced so many people that make that claim. 'My Magic is the greatest'. 'My Magic is supreme'. But it always ends the same way. I battle them, I learn all that I can from them, then I defeat them."

Oberon surprises the Lightning Titan, grappling its Lightning Bolt form and throwing it upward, through the canopy, incinerating the leaves above as its body rockets through them.

"All my opponents have fallen." Oberon knees the Lightning Titan in the gut, sending it higher into the air as he gives chase, continuously avoiding lightning bolts and battering this ancient being. "I may be young, but I am not arrogant. No, arrogant children are those who go around with feeble things like Fire and Ice, and claim to be supreme.

Those who don't know how much they don't know. Those who think throwing a bolt of lightning will ever be enough to reach the summit of this world. No, there is no such thing as a 'Supreme Magic', and I say this as a person who wields many Magics that people believe to be such a thing.

There are only Mages that desire growth, and those who believe they are enough. And only the latter will ever stand at the top of this world, the place you believe your Magic alone has placed you."

Oberon spins and drops his heel onto the Titan's shoulder as it's in the process of changing shape into a lightning bolt, instantly causing it to revert to the humanoid form.

"There is no 'Supreme Magic' that will get you to the top," he flips and slams his knee into the titan's chin, knocking it toward the clouds. "Only those with the will to become a 'Supreme Magic', but still…"

He causes multiple sonic booms while punching the titan, ascending higher into the sky and shaking the clouds apart, forcing the storm to disperse, cracking the bones in his arms and hands with each put.

"Of all the Magics I've seen, my Cosmic is above them all!" With a broad smile on his face, Oberon gathers much of his Magic Energy around his right hand before burying it into the titan's gut, following through with the strike and parting the clouds, entirely punching away the storm as the titan is sent flying high.

The titan is so disoriented that it barely hears his next words, but the image of that smiling boy, King of the Fairies, is burnt into its essence forever.

"Thank you for the lesson," Oberon says as he raises his arms toward the titan and launches a marble-sized Black Hole at it.

The Black Hole slams into the titan and ascends higher, past the rapidly fading storm, all while pulling massive chunks of the island and ocean floor into the sky to form a mile wide planetoid.

Joining the other 34 planetoids above the island, each containing a sealed Primordial Titan within.

With two days left, Oberon Alkwan, King of the Fairies, has sealed all the Primordial Titans. A feat that would elevate his already legendary reputation around the world and help open the door to his 100 Year Quest.

But, these Primordial Titans shall not remain sealed forever. Within two decades, the Southern Isles Magic Council would once again call upon Fairy Tail, call upon Oberon, to resolve this matter.

But as he will be busy on the Northern Continent of Guiltina dealing with a Dragon King to add one more 1-- Year Quest to his record, Fairy Tail's 4th Guildmaster, Laxus Dreyar, will send a full deployment of their best and brightest available Wizards.

Cana Alberon, The Card Witch, the most powerful woman in Fairy Tail.

Lucy Hearfilia, The world's greatest Celestial Spirit Wizard.

Erza Scarlet, The Fairy Knight.

Natsu Dragneel, The Salamander.

Lisanna Strauss, The Ally of Animals.

Gajeel Redfox, Black Steel.

Levy McGarden, The Archivist.

Cobra, The Poison Surge.

Yukino Agria, The 13th Key.

And lastly, Juvia Lockeser, the Water Mage, the first student of Oberon…
