Chapter 1 - Beginnings (Prologue)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Warning: This will contain heavy spoilers for miraculous s6. But it will not be anything like the Miraculous you know (No senti-monsters, I am declaring that upfront.)

A tall man with silver hair sighed as he opened the door to his Atelier, the room where he worked, but he couldn't bring himself to invent new designs, not anymore, nothing was quite the same for him anymore.

Gabriel Agreste felt emptier than ever, even amidst the opulence of his room he felt nothing, not since Emily passed away, something not even all the wealth in the world could prevent.

'what is the point of all this money if it couldn't even save her.' He screamed in anger slamming the pen he held onto the wall, a scratch forming on it, the wall was damaged, yet not as damaged as he himself was.

A young boy peeked into the room, "Father." he spoke quietly.

"I already warned you to leave me alone, Adrien." Gabriel spat out.

Adrien shrunk back in fear and surprise, his father was not the same anymore, and he could understand why, he was also distraught by his mother's death. But he couldn't grasp the sudden change in his father's attitude, tears welled up in his eyes.

Adrien cried out, "Father please-"

"Adrien, that's enough, Nathalie take him to his room."

Nathalie quickly appeared, holding Adrien's hand, she had been the Agreste family's assistant for quite some time, her eyes held sadness as she took in the current state of the family, she knew more than anyone how much Emily's passing affected Gabriel, the right thing to do would be give him space.

She held the young Adrien's hand and ushered him to his room. "Shall I read you a story book, Adrien." She asked.

"Yes please." Adrien said sobbing.

Reading bedtime stories was something that assistants normally wouldn't do, but now she felt like more than just an assistant to Adrien, she recalled Emily's final words to her "Take care of Adrien when I'm gone, not as an assistant, but like a mother, please."

Gabriel sat on his seat, already regretting what he had said to Adrien, but right now, he was in no state to be a caring parent, he could only hope and wish that somehow Emily would return to them.

he sighed, returning to his work as he moved aside the books there, his eyes widened, there, before him was a book he had never seen before, he held it up to his eyes, the title read: 'Secrets of the Miraculouses.'

He flipped through the pages, not believing for a second that it was anything more than a prank, the miraculouses were nothing more than baseless legends of the past, surely not reality.

But as he flipped through, the information was more coherent and detailed than he imagined, who would bother creating such a prank, then he laid his eyes on a particular statement.

Gabriel stood up, his eyes shone, he felt hope.

He had already put to rest his suspicions of the validity of the book, it had to be real, he needed it to be real.

The statement he held his finger on read: "Bring together the miraculous of the Ladybug and the Black cat and anything you wish for will come true."
