Looking at her red cheeks, I finally shook my head.
Seeing this, Amber Skye didn't push her offer and walked away with the herb basket on her back.
I sat quietly on a rock, my eyes half-shut, breathing softly.
After some time passed, Amber came back from outside.
Spotting me sitting on the rock, she walked over and whispered, "Mason, you're still awake."
I nodded and said, "Can't sleep."
Amber went on, "Your injuries aren't healed yet. You need to rest more. I... I'll go get some water so you can wash up."
I looked up at her, ready to say no, but noticed something strange about her face.
She seemed to be dodging my eyes, scared I might see her.
"What happened to your face?" I asked.
Amber, hiding her face, quickly answered, "Nothing... I... I'm getting water for you."
Then, she rushed off.
Soon enough, Amber came back with the water.
She set the water down in front of me and said, "You... you can wash up."
