Chapter 4 - chapter four

" Oh, I'm sorry I wasn't watching where I was going earlier...", she said as she continued to gently massage her forehead while also pitying the forehead of the unlucky person that had clashed with hers.

" Its ok elder sister, I was the one at fault please don't be mad ", a sweet gentle voice could be heard but for some reason Abigail instinctively felt a chill run down her spine from disgust. She looked up to see a beautiful young girl that seemed around this body's age with platinum blonde hair and crystal red eyes. Her brain quickly gave her an answer of who ever this was. It was Rose Stone, her younger half- sister!!

She was a year younger than her and was also the daughter of her father's mistress, Helen. She the sweet coveted young miss of the Stone family who everyone adored but for reasons known to former Abigail and now her, her body cringed at the sight of her. Because she's known to them as a notorious White lotus flower. This little girl never gave up any opportunity to make the former Abigail look bad, she was one of the many reasons why the former Abigail had a tough time in her own home and behaved foolishly the way she did.

" It's fine..... I'll be leaving know ", Abigail didn't want bother with her anymore since she wanted to take the blame and proceeded forward, not noticing her new half sister's surprised expression.

'The fool didn't lash out at me? What's going on??', Rose was shocked and so was Martha. What wrong with this tyrant young lady??

" W- wait...", She had blurted it out without thinking as she didn't want Abigail to walk away so quickly.

" Huh? Is anything the matter? ", Abigail stopped turned to look at Rose, now noticing the bizarre expression on Rose's face.

" Y- you didn't lash out at me?... ", Rose asked the question before thinking it through, unable to comprehend her half sister's behavior.

" You want me to scream at you?? ", Abigail tilted her head in confusion before giving a faint smile. Just as she thought, she was trying to make her look bad, even after knowing her half sister just survived almost drowning not to long ago. From what she could tell from the former Abigail's memories, Rose had always been doing this since they were young, causing everyone to look at her like she was the bad guy. But she couldn't really blame it all on her when it was the former Abigail proving them right and causing all the trouble.

" N-no I-I mean I..... ", Rose had realized what she said earlier and tried to clear the misunderstanding. " It's just that I thought elder sister would be upset with me that's all ", she turned it in her favor.

Just as Abigail was to reply, a maid ran over to Rose's side, she happened to hear what Rose had said and quickly comforted her, " Young lady Rose, are you alright?? ", The maid the turned and glared at Abigail, " Why do you have to be such a bad child? Why must you bully Young lady Rose, she's your younger sister!! "

She was of course Rose's personal maid, Wen. She had always disliked Abigail and used the fact she was Rose's maid and took advantage of whenever Abigail bullied Rose to berate this tyrant young lady.

" Please don't be angry at elder sister, it was my fault "

" But Young miss, she has no right to bully you ", Wen replied, giving Abigail a disdainful look.

Abigail couldn't help but shake her head at the two idiots before her. What a joke, is she supposed to get angry right now? They wanted to make her look bad? Then they can't blame her for not being nice.

She sighed softly, "Who is the daughter of a pauper speaking to in such manner?", Abigail couldn't stop herself from saying that causing Martha to gasp in surprise, "My Lady, you mustn't-", Abigail raised a hand to silence her before looking back at Wen. "It seems my dear sister has instilled a sense of fearlessness in you unknowingly. Who do you think you are to call me a bad child like it isn't my father paying your meager salary hmm? Have you gone mad? Are you trying to lose your job here?"

Wen immediately shuddered as her eyes dropped to the floor before her, "Forgive me my lady! I misspoke, I was only trying to defend my mistress and-"

"So it is your place as a mouthpiece to speak up to me? Are we on the same level? Is my sister suddenly mute and unable to speak for herself if she was wronged? Do you even know the crux of the matter that you stand here before me so arrogantly?", Abigail cut her off. Wen always knew that Abigail never spoke nicely to anyone but she had never been so sharp tongued and domineering. She was too frightened too speak, Rose on the other hand was also tongue tied and felt seriously insulted from what Abigail's said just now.

Abigail saw the two's expression and wondered if she had the too harsh but soon didn't care, she saying she was nice didn't mean she'd change over night. She still had the liberty to be her normal self right?

"Anyways, I'll be on my way then, I do hope I won't be delayed any longer? And sister, make sure to put your dog on a leash in the future. I won't be as kind as i was today", and with that, she turned and continued on her way leaving the three stunned. Martha quickly regained her senses and ran after Abigail once more. Her heart couldn't handle so much surprises, it just couldn't.

When the two had gone, Rose finally regained her composure and hate was evident in her eyes. Who did she think she was?! How dare she talk down to me and my maid? Rose never thought a day would come where she would be bested and left speechless by Abigail, she didn't know why but a sense of unease had settled in her heart.

Meanwhile, Abigail already had a headache dealing with two idiots, but she already had experience dealing with their kind. Still she decided avoiding them in future for the sake of her sanity. The irrelevant thoughts were soon put away to the far corner of her mind, right now she had to focus on what to do about her current predicament.

The issue of her sudden transmigration and the mysteries surrounding it. All these strange things began happening after she signed that strange contract Conrad had given her but when she thought she had escaped, she ended up in this strange new place. This obviously had to do with Conrad who had proven to her the hard way that the supernatural exist.

Regarding the matter of where she was though, if she looked back at the former Abigail's memories she could find some information. She didn't know how it worked but the more of the memories she wanted to uncover the more would be revealed. She's the clueless about it one moment but the next second the information would suddenly pop up, it was like using a browser of some kind.

From what she could tell from the former Abigail's memories, she was currently in a kind of half-step Victorian era, a time known as the reform period, a time after the fifth epoch; the Doom era of Magic. It was a fantasy world where the supernatural exist.

From what the former Abigail knew, she were currently in the Valerian Empire, one of the three greatest empires of the Loxian continent. Her father was the current Duke of the Stone Duchy of the empire. He was one of the five main Dukes of the empire; the Esselrades, Lucia's, Castias, Stones and the Sparrows. The Esselrades, the Arch duke's family, was second in power to the royal family followed by the Stones family that had also attained the title of Arch Duke.

After the Dukes were the Marquess then Counts then Viscount then Baron then finally honorary citizens. None of the Dukes have yet to reach the title of Grand duke yet so the spot remains vacant.

Her position in the Stone family was nothing to write home about, not like a letter could reach her old home anyways. To put it simply, she was a disgrace to the Stone family. It already apparent to her with just the few hours she had spent here and everyone looked down on her.

As she walked through the open corridors of the manor, she she glanced into the courtyard and her eyes shone. The different plants and flowers she saw made her feel a sense calmness, no matter how much of a bane she was in her past life she had a lot of hobbies and likes like any other person and gardening was one of them. She diverted her path into the courtyard quickly ran to a bush of strange flowers she had never seen before, even this body's past memories couldn't give her any answers of what they were or what any of the other strange plants and flowers were. It was obvious she never paid attention to any of her studies at all.

Growing up, she had several interests other than the vices she indulged herself in, once she starts and feels like she had learned enough, she would move on to the next one. She was known as a child genius that had finished University at the age of 14. Her father hoped for her to join the family business but instead she had other plans with her free time. She studied medicine further for a year with some great masters before travelling round the world to study archaeology, culinary arts, embroidery, fashion designing and many other skills which angered her father. He finally had it and said if she didn't work in one of his companies he'd never fund her any research. She had no choice but to oblige.

Gardening happened to be one of those skills she learnt over the years and she simply adored flowers. She decided to forget these old thoughts, this was a new life and she decided to live it well. As she enjoyed the flowers, she was unaware of Martha and the other servants that passed by . They were shocked, was this the tyrant young lady? When did she start to like flowers? he had always hated the sight of them, calling them dirty and uninteresting. She had rarely spent any time in any of the Manor's gardens of the courtyard.

As she admired them, she felt her stomach growl in protest. The sound was loud and it was obvious whoever was nearby must have heard it. She sighed from the embarrassment?
