They rested an hour beside the chasm before anyone spoke of moving on.
Lyra sat with her back against a crystal column, still faintly bruised despite Sameira's warmth, watching her own hands as though she did not quite trust them yet. Klelia lay with her head in Isabella's lap, eyes closed, letting herself simply be fussed over for the first time in longer than she could remember.
"You are part of this now," Rin said, dropping down beside Lyra with a grin. "Which means you get opinions on everything, you get teased mercilessly, and you get fed constantly. And my mom does not know how to love a person quietly."
"I noticed," Lyra said, glancing at the third bowl of broth Sameira had pressed into her hands. "Is this normal?"
"This is restrained," Lilith said dryly. "Wait until she decides you are underweight."
"I am not underweight."
"You will be corrected on that."
