Chapter 587 - Chapter 587: The Reason for Love at First Sight

Muria had often pondered certain questions. Why did he fall in love with Mikaela at first sight? And even after all the years that followed, why couldn't he forget her, even after she had left?

Was it really just because of Mikaela's stunning beauty? Muria felt that his love at first sight wasn't so superficial. His perspective was different from those shallow beings who only looked at appearance and figure.

After all, purely in terms of appearance, the females around him were not lacking. Whether it was the red dragon Cynthia or Renata, or the white dragon queen Claudia, their forms, whether dragon or human, matched Muria's aesthetic perfectly. They could all be considered incredibly beautiful, and the twice-evolved white dragon Claudia could even be considered peerlessly beautiful, second only to Mikaela in terms of attraction for Muria.

Yet despite this, Muria had no intention of changing his loyalty. His heart was still firmly occupied by Mikaela, which seemed to go beyond the realm of love at first sight.

Muria thought about it for a while and came to a reasonable guess. It was the instinct of his bloodline, a subconscious choice of his body. Choosing a powerful mate to pass on his bloodline and ensure the continuation of his lineage was a fundamental instinct of life.

Just like how humans, males are naturally drawn to beautiful women and females to handsome men, life instinctively chooses mates with superior genetic traits. Everyone hopes their offspring will inherit their bloodline and combine it with that of a superior mate to become stronger, not weaker.

Muria was the same. His love at first sight was an instinctive choice of life. Because of his dragon king bloodline, his range of potential mates wasn't limited to Titans but included all beings capable of reproduction through sexual means.

When his body first started developing, he encountered Mikaela, a seraphim girl whose bloodline had reverted to an ancient state, only slightly weaker than the original ancient god descendants. Naturally, she made a lasting impression on Muria, both in memory and body.

Her high level of life made Muria's body instinctively choose her in that moment, ensuring that even after his body matured early, he never forgot her and had no intention of replacing her. There was no other female more outstanding than Mikaela.

If Muria hadn't met Mikaela, he might have naturally grown fond of the female Titan Heloise, as his father arranged. Long-term companionship could lay a solid foundation for deep feelings. Unfortunately, childhood friends couldn't compete with sudden arrivals.

A seraphim, unseen since ancient times, appeared, and naturally attracted a half-dragon Titan with dragon blood in the Titan ancestral land. Everything fell into place as naturally as water flowing.

...

"Boom!" Mikaela swung her sword, using the blade's spine to swat a deity with a dog's head from the sky to the ground. She then conjured thousands of flaming arrows, shooting them at three twelve-winged angels who had formed a battle formation. Her higher-level attacks left them struggling to defend themselves, looking quite pathetic.

Mikaela was single-handedly fighting a group of soul-level celestial beings who wanted to challenge Muria. Single combat was too boring for her. Only a group of exceptional geniuses in the celestial realm, working together, could provide some fun and a bit of pressure.

Being a formidable opponent was rare, making Mikaela somewhat lonely in a way. Because of this, she didn't reject Muria's pursuit. Aside from the racial aspect, Muria met all her other criteria. Now that Muria had shown his unparalleled strength, sweeping through the celestial realm, Mikaela was also moved and excited, expressing her joy through battle. With Muria, she would never be lonely again.

"That's enough, the battle ends here," Muria raised his hand, summoning a gust of wind that pushed back the celestial beings still attempting to attack. Although most celestial beings didn't seek fame or glory, there were always some who pursued honor.

"Muria!" Mikaela, about to attack, saw her hard-earned opponents being repelled by Muria. She looked up, pouting slightly in dissatisfaction.

"What's wrong?" Muria landed beside the valiant seraphim girl, shrinking his form slightly to stand shoulder to shoulder with her, wearing a warm smile.

"My opponents are gone. How do you plan to compensate me?" Mikaela asked, returning his smile. Affection is mutual. If Mikaela hadn't responded to Muria, he wouldn't have pined for her, even with body memory. He wouldn't be a simpering admirer.

"Hey, I'm here, aren't I? Isn't fighting me more satisfying than fighting those guys?" Muria's mood lifted even more at Mikaela's smile, dispelling some inner frustration.

"But you've already broken through to the legendary level. Fighting you, you'd easily defeat me with your superior rank," Mikaela grumbled, the flames on her wings dimming slightly, her tone softening.

"I can suppress my level to fight you," Muria said gently, showing a tenderness he had never shown any other female.

"No, that's not interesting. Wait until I break through to the legendary level..." Mikaela trailed off.

...

"How is my son?" A Titan standing atop the highest point of a cloud city asked, watching Muria seemingly trying to embrace the seraphim girl. He smiled brightly, directing his question to the legendary seraphim beside him.

"Much stronger than you," the seraphim replied, wiping his face. He had just fought Ansoor and hadn't gained any advantage, receiving several punches instead, which left him particularly irritable. "Your son is so much stronger than you. Don't you feel embarrassed?"

"What's there to be embarrassed about?" Ansoor asked cheerfully. "It shows each generation is stronger than the last, which is a good thing!"

"Alright, stop smiling," the seraphim said, growing more annoyed at Ansoor's smile. "You don't even know how to smile properly. Look at your face, all wrinkled up like a flower, it's ugly as hell."

"I'm happy today. None of your business. If you're not satisfied, come and fight me. Let me beat you up."

...

"Muria, come here. You need to make your request. The Seraphim clan, Raphael's lineage, needs to compensate you," the voice of the epic emperor rang in Muria's ears, interrupting his tender moment with Mikaela and reminding him of an important matter yet to be settled.
