Chapter 719 - Chapter 720: Traces of the Golden Dragon

"Thank you for your hard work." As Muria looked at the imposing archangel kneeling on one knee before him, his vanity was greatly satisfied. He became more and more convinced that the kick he had delivered back then was the right decision. "Asimio," he said.

"This is my duty." The archangel, now devoid of any signs of aging, tossed the ancient dragon he was holding onto the floor of the hall, then looked at Muria with anticipation.

"Very well, you may withdraw," Muria nodded with a dignified air, ordering the angel to leave.

"Then I shall take my leave!" Archangel Asimio eagerly left the Wind King's Castle, then flew upwards toward Synapse.

"Bootlicker," Muria muttered to himself as he watched the angel's hurried departure. If not for having something on him, this guy wouldn't have been willing to leave the Cloud City at all. "Haven't you heard that bootlickers get nothing in the end?"

"But this guy seems to get everything," Muria muttered helplessly. After all, Asimio had the looks, the body, and the power. Over two thousand years had made him incredibly charming. In every respect, he was the perfect mate, so his chances of rekindling with his lover from a past life were almost certain. Hardly anyone could compete with him.

While Muria was deep in thought, the ancient green dragon that had been thrown to the floor by the archangel looked around in terror. Upon entering this castle, she immediately sensed an overwhelming number of legendary auras that filled her with dread.

One or two she could handle calmly, but there were just too many here, to a point that seemed unbelievable. Ancient dragons, nagas, giants... various powerful legends stood on either side, staring at her with expressionless faces, exerting immense psychological pressure.

"What kind of place is this?" The ancient dragon recalled the brief glimpse she had caught of the scene before entering the castle. Around the castle, there were large steel battleships emitting waves of energy that made dragons tremble. Even the smallest ship was larger than her own body.

"Why are there so many legends here?"

"What dragon are you? State your name!" Muria finally returned to his senses and looked down at the trembling green dragon below, his voice echoing through the vast hall, making him appear even more imposing.

"I am the ancient green dragon, Samantha Evers," the ancient green dragon stammered, her spirit and body already broken.

"Samantha Evers, a good name. You are an ancient dragon, so I will give you a choice: First, submit to me, and I will have some dragons teach you the knowledge and skills a dragon should possess. Second, show me your pride."

Muria looked down at the ancient dragon with a smile. "Two choices, make your pick now. Don't worry, whichever you choose, I guarantee you'll survive."

"I choose to swear allegiance to you, great Lord of Dragons," the ancient dragon immediately made the wisest decision without needing much thought. When even her life was not guaranteed, what use was freedom? The overwhelming legendary auras around her clearly indicated the immense power and influence of the young man sitting above her, questioning her.

The ancient green dragon's submission was just the beginning. As the chromatic dragons continued to expand and explore, more and more ancient chromatic dragons were discovered, then alarmed, and soon, more and more requests for legendary reinforcements were sent to Synapse.

Now, it was no longer just a war of conquest for the chromatic dragons, but a full-fledged war between Synapse and the native dragons of this continent. However, for now, the conflicts involved only wild chromatic dragons. Metal dragons had not yet been found, which was not surprising. Metal dragons preferred to hide within civilized societies, enjoying the cultural atmosphere, rather than wandering the wilderness.

As the war progressed, Muria frequently drew legendary frost giants from the subcontinent of Deprosen through Synapse's extensive teleportation network, and he also summoned legendary nagas from the Ocean Kingdom. These vassal legends joined the battle and then returned once the fight was over.

Thus, in this dragon war, Muria's side always maintained an absolute advantage in the number of legends. If one wasn't enough, he sent two; if two weren't enough, he sent three; if three weren't enough, ten would go. No matter how strong an ancient dragon was, it couldn't withstand a group of legends attacking it together.

"It's quite strange that a gold dragon would build a nest here." A green dragon, hidden with invisibility magic, was stealthily observing a hill in the distance, where dozens of cloud giants were patrolling, guarding a castle.

"There's more than one gold dragon here? What do you think, should we call more dragons to help us take down this castle?" The lurking green dragon slightly turned its head to look at its brother, greed in its eyes.

"Are you out of your mind? If you want to die, don't drag me along. That's a gold dragon," the larger green dragon smacked its brother on the head. "Did you forget what kind of bloodline the Tyrant has? That's his kin. If you dare to rob them, I guarantee that by tomorrow, you'll be skinned and hung on a bronze pillar."

"Fine, then what do we do? Just sit here and watch?" the younger green dragon asked, unwilling to give up.

"Of course not. We sell the information to Synapse! But we absolutely cannot rob them ourselves."

"Gold dragons, how interesting." Muria, who suddenly received the location of a gold dragon castle, became interested in going out for a walk. "In this area full of chromatic dragons, there's a trace of gold dragons. There must be ancient dragons involved; otherwise, they wouldn't be able to establish themselves here. This place is too strange. Maybe I should consult a knowledgeable elder."

After some thought, Muria decided to visit the gold dragon castle. There should be a legendary gold dragon there who could answer some of his questions.

This continent felt too strange to him. It had so many dragons, yet he hadn't encountered a single intelligent species worth mentioning. He had asked the captured ancient chromatic dragons, but they couldn't provide any useful information either.

Dragons are generally reclusive. If there's no danger, once they find a suitable place to live, they usually stay there for life, not flying around. So Muria couldn't get the information he wanted.

"Indeed, it's a gold dragon." Silently and invisibly, Muria's hidden figure arrived at the gold dragon castle discovered by the two green dragons. On the open platform of the castle, he saw two golden-haired girls playfully chasing each other, and beside them was an even younger boy.

Sensing the familiar aura radiating from them, Muria squinted and smiled. It had been a long time since he had encountered his kin. Gold dragons were still quite rare in the world.

"Hey! There's a big brother over there!" The golden-haired boy, who had been watching his sisters play, noticed Muria standing at the edge of the castle, smiling at them. Hearing the boy's shout, the two golden-haired girls looked in the direction he was pointing and saw Muria.

The moment they saw Muria, their expressions changed drastically, because the surrounding cloud giants seemed unaware of Muria's presence and continued their patrols as usual. Such an abnormal sight naturally terrified the young dragons. They were not clueless human children.

"What cautious little ones!" Muria couldn't help but smile as he saw the two vigilant golden-haired girls.

As the two young gold dragons became alert, the cloud giants patrolling the castle surrounded Muria. A formidable legendary aura, which Muria found decent, quickly rose from within the castle and rushed outside.

"Who are you?"

The legend Muria had sensed soon appeared before him. It was a middle-aged man dressed in armor, looking like a general. He exuded an aura that was not purely that of a gold dragon—this was a dragonborn.

"Relax, I mean no harm." As he spoke, Muria's face was covered with golden dragon scales, shining brilliantly in the sunlight. "I'm here to visit an elder."

This transformation caused the previously wary young gold dragons to relax instantly, and the surrounding cloud giants also breathed a sigh of relief. Even the legendary dragonborn put away his weapon. The change in attitude was so quick that Muria couldn't help but feel a little speechless. The identity of a gold dragon was really useful everywhere, especially among kin.

"My father has gone to visit a friend; he's not home," said one of the little girls, who became cheerful and lively upon realizing Muria was their kin.

"What about your mother?" Muria asked curiously. With three immature young gold dragons in the castle, there was no way there would be only one adult gold dragon present.

"My mother went to find Aunt Gwen," the little boy eagerly answered, full of the desire to show off.

"Who is Gwen?" Muria asked, puzzled.

"Aunt Gwen is an adult silver dragon," one of the golden-haired girls replied.

"Are your parents legends?" Muria inquired.

"No."

"I'm here to visit an ancient elder, not to chat with your parents." Muria said with a warm smile. A few gold dragons that hadn't reached legendary status yet didn't have the information he wanted. Without legendary strength, who would dare to travel across the continent?

"Are you looking to visit Lord Delron Buckley?" asked the legendary dragonborn politely upon hearing Muria's intentions.

"Could you notify him for me?" Muria asked. Before coming, he had already used the Dragon's Command merged

into his Terminal Staff to sense the area, but he didn't detect the aura of any ancient metal dragons. Otherwise, he could have directly contacted them through the Dragon's Command.

"Unfortunately, the lord has also gone out and won't be back for a while. Is there something urgent you need?"

"It's not that urgent. I've just arrived on this continent, and I'm unfamiliar with many things. I wanted to ask about the Roghagen Subcontinent."

"If that's the case, I believe I can assist you. There's no need to trouble Lord Delron."
