Source energy is the most fundamental thing to a world. For a world to damage its own foundation and gift source energy to a being, that being must have done it a tremendous favor. For example, saving the world from destruction, or eliminating a hidden danger that could lead to the world's demise. Alternatively, like the Heavenly Demon Secret Art, using the extensive life experience of a Legendary being to guide the world's civilization forward.
"We're not sure yet what happened to that missing Seraphim," Ansol replied to Muria's sigh. "The Seraphim have already dispatched one of their own to search for them."
"Ah, I figured. Even with the Heavenly Demon Secret Art, it's not 100% safe." Muria sighed again. The missing Seraphim may have encountered a wandering evil god in the void. At the peak of Legendary rank, encountering an evil god of any strength usually led to disastrous results.
"What's this all about, though? Why have I never heard of it? If I hadn't come to see you off, I wouldn't have known about this," Muria asked, pointing at the vast metallic continent beneath his feet. His eyes held a trace of wonder. Given his current strength, he should have known about anything in the Titan race.
"Why don't you take a closer look? You'll figure it out." The Golden Dragon Queen gestured for Muria to examine it.
"Hm!" Muria extended his mental power, observing a small area of the metallic continent. After studying its patterns, he showed a look of amazement. "This is a teleportation array. This entire continent is the base of the array. A teleportation array of this scale could send us to other world clusters, right?"
"Exactly. This array allows us, who seek to transcend to Epic status, to travel to distant void regions, saving us a lot of time and effort."
The Golden Dragon Queen explained to Muria, "You haven't heard of it because this massive teleportation array was only recently completed. It was built through the joint efforts of the Epic powerhouses from the Titan, Seraphim, and Dragon races."
"Another void marvel!" Muria whispered in admiration. He guessed that the three races must have specially treated the metallic continent to keep it from appearing as a second moon in Erathia's night sky.
"Muria, you've come too!" At that moment, a beautiful woman who bore some resemblance to the Golden Dragon Queen, along with a handsome young man, approached.
"Grandfather! Grandmother!" Muria quickly greeted his Dragon grandparents.
"It's good you're here to see this. Before long, it'll be your turn," said Dragon King Diomos, who had returned from the void. He examined Muria for a moment and nodded approvingly.
"Daughter, I've already looked into the world you're going to," Dragon King Yalista said, turning to her daughter after acknowledging Muria. She carefully gave her advice.
"The world you're descending to is mired in endless war. The natives are divided into hundreds of nations, forming six alliances, constantly battling one another. Their level of civilization is not very high—roughly equivalent to the kingdoms in our world—and they haven't yet developed the ability to access the void. However, they do possess a unique supernatural power system.
"Once you arrive, your task is to quickly integrate into their extraordinary power system, gain enough strength to protect yourself, and then work your way into their power structure. Eventually, you should take control of the largest faction."
"Ansol, you should be paying attention too," Diomos suddenly scolded Ansol, who seemed distracted. "You'll be descending into the same world as Atris."
"What? I'm going to the same world as Atris?" Ansol lifted his head in surprise, his expression showing genuine shock.
"Yes, the two of you will descend to the same world."
"This works too?" Muria, standing to the side, was dumbfounded. He had assumed such missions would be done solo, but his parents were actually going in as a team!
"Why not? The world they're going to has a solid foundation. If they can solve the issue of its fragmented races and unify it, the world's civilization might eventually evolve enough to enter the void. This world even has the potential to ascend to a larger one.
"With just this possibility alone, when they leave, the source energy the world will reward them with should be enough for both of them to break through the barrier between Legendary and Epic," Diomos explained.
"Hahaha, I see!" Atris burst into laughter. She clapped her husband's shoulder. "Ansol, after we descend, you'll need to gain power quickly and protect me. I'll handle the strategy and lead you to the pinnacle of power!"
"Understood," Ansol nodded.
"Who arranged this?" Muria asked. This setup seemed particularly advantageous to his father, especially during the most vulnerable early stages, where his mother's intellect would be crucial. No doubt, the Golden Dragon Queen would excel in that role.
"Hehe, of course, it was your Titan grandfather who suggested this," Diomos chuckled, clearly proud of the arrangement.
"What nonsense! You and that old Titan just got together because you were both worried about your children!" Yalista playfully smacked Diomos, revealing the truth and easing Ansol's embarrassment.
"If this is possible, does that mean I could descend to a world with Mikaela when it's my turn?" Muria stroked his chin, his eyes shining with interest. Now that his parents had set a precedent, it seemed he could play the same game when his time came.
"If there's a suitable world, sure," Diomos nodded, acknowledging Muria's idea.
"In that case, when my children grow up and have to venture into the void, does that mean I could personally escort them?" Muria mused, thinking of his three lovely daughters.
Yalista immediately shot down Muria's idea. "You're overthinking it! That's impossible!"
"Do you think the world is stupid? It knows who saved it, who helped it, and who tried to harm it. Even if the world doesn't have self-awareness, it can still differentiate between friend and foe," Diomos added, scolding Muria for being overly protective of his offspring. "If you don't want them to face risks, just hand over your source energy to them—or better yet, why not let them ascend as gods? You're building an empire, right? With the number of intelligent beings you control, it wouldn't be a problem to support four gods!"
"Cough, cough, Grandfather, I was just kidding! I don't plan on having them become gods!" Muria chuckled awkwardly, explaining his earlier remarks. "Now that we have a secret art with such a high success rate for acquiring source energy, letting them choose godhood would be foolish! However, once they succeed in obtaining their first drop of source energy and break through that barrier, could we move as a family?"
"Of course, but you'll have to make sure that when you leave the world, there's enough source energy to split between all six of you," Yalista replied, slightly exasperated by Muria's line of questioning, while Diomos remained speechless.
"Little Muria, that's actually a good idea!" To Muria's surprise, the Golden Dragon Queen's eyes lit up in approval. She seemed to think his suggestion had merit.
Just as the Golden Dragon Queen finished speaking, the metallic continent trembled slightly. Lines of massive array patterns began lighting up across the continent, releasing an immense gravitational force into the surrounding void, pulling in stray energy from all directions. This created a spectacular and prolonged meteor shower.
"Enough with these fanciful ideas. You two need to get ready to depart!" Diomos cut off the Golden Dragon Queen's musings and urged the couple to prepare as the teleportation array began to activate.
Out of curiosity, Muria followed the flow of energy, arriving at a place where power was being concentrated. There, he saw a pyramid similar to those within the Void Forge.
His parents climbed to the top of the pyramid together, standing at the teleportation node, where the energy fluctuations grew stronger by the second. Many Legendary beings from the three races had gathered to witness this event.
It wasn't long before the entire pyramid was engulfed in radiant energy. In a matter of moments, a giant beam of light tore through the void, taking the couple beyond the world cluster of Erathia in just a few seconds.
"I hope you both return safely as Epic beings before it's my turn to depart," Muria whispered as he watched the pyramid's glow fade, sending his silent blessing.
