Chapter 55 - ch. 55 the Vulture

Breaking through the glass, a bald, middle-aged man in green and yellow spandex began grabbing the jewelry and tossing it into a duffel bag. The man wore white neck frills and a pair of Nylon, foldable wings on his back.

Underneath his bizarre-looking spandex, one could see the outline of a harness and a thin, laptop-sized box on his back. This was what allowed the man to fly, it was an electromagnetic antigraviton generator!

This box can lessen gravity placed onto the user, allowing him to gain flight with the nylon set of wings that he fashioned to his suit. He flew like an actual bird, having to flap his artificial wings but he was incredibly fast, reaching atleast 60mph!

The Vulture, aka Adrian Toomes, was a genius scientist who was betrayed by his friend and co-owner of a research and development company!

After spending a decade studying and researching anti-gravity, Adrian finally created his first anti-gravity generator but his friend, who was already embezzling money from the company, tried to sell the patent from under him!

In a fit of rage, Adrian Toomes put on the Anti-gravity harness and waited until his partner left the building. As he left their companies building, Adrian grabbed his partners wrists before jumping up with Antigravity Generator!

They flew over a hundred feet into the air within seconds before Adrian let go, bus life-long friend who'd betrayed him, splattered into a pile of meat and bones, and so the Vulture was born!

Due to his reckless and emotional outburst, Adrian had been spotted and was on the run. No longer able to make money the legal way, he turned to crime to further his researched. He used his intelligence to rob secure places and fly away with the contents.

Adrian added an Exosuit to his outfit allowing for superhuman strength, he was continously growing stronger with each inventions he created!

Holding up a 24-karat gold ring with a giant diamond studded into it, a wide grin plastered the Vulture's face.

"This'll fetch a nice price! Maybe I can finally swap these Nylon wings out with thrusters!" On the floor next to him were two dead security guards, their bodies were burned and their hearts had been stopped via electricity.

Slung on his shoulders was the weapon that did it. It was a large stun gun that could fire multiple charges before needing to be reloaded. Each cartridge shot 15 amps of electricity into someone, it was lethal but above all, completely silent.

The Shock Gun, as he called it, also acted as the battery for his Anti-Gravity Generator. He hadn't found a small, compact enough power source yet, so he could only rely on this to make short 10-minute flights. After finishing his wing upgrades, he planned on trying to steal a Stark Miniature Reactor to power it.

Since breaking in and killing the guards, only 8 minutes had passed and his duffel bag was almost full of jewelry. He knew the police's response time and that he needed to leave now.

Zipping the bag up, he slung the heavy 100lb duffelbag over his shoulders with ease thanks to his Exosuit and he grabbed his shock gun to controlled his flight.

Jumping out of the broken window he entered from, Vulture toggled his gravity to be absolutely zero using his Shock Gun. He was about to fly away when suddenly...

"Where do you think you're going?" A young voice said, interrupting the Vulture's thoughts of upgrades.

On the wall of the building next to him was a boy, he had to have been 5'4 and wore a shoddy-looking red and blue outfit. The most surprising part, however, was that the boy was standing horizontally on the building!

The vulture was completely shocked; not only did he not expect any resistance in his escape, he most certainly didn't expect someone who walked on walls! That being said, a faint recognition came over the Vulture, he remembered seeing this outfit in the newspaper.

"Geez, here I thought my costume looked bad but then you came along. Tight spandex with white frills, you're not even wearing a mask man so what's the point of the costume?" Spiderman asked in genuine wonder.

"You must be that Spider-Man that's in the news lately, going around stopping crooks, but you certainly don't look like a man to me. Get out of here boy, before I kill you!"

"I don't think tha-" Feeling a tingle, Spider-Man abruptly dodged left then to the right as two fast-moving electrodes sunk into the wall next to him.

Seeing how easily he dodged the attack, Vulture realized just how serious this situation was. Slinging his shock gun over his shoulders, the Vulture quickly pulled out a real gun!

The reason he didn't use it earlier was because of the noise, but that was the furthest thing from his mind as he needed to escape this strange boy!

Unloading his entire pistol at the wall-crawling boy, Vulture was shocked as he witnessed the boy dodge each and every bullet with relative ease.

"Alright buddy that's enough from you, Im sure they'll be time to cosplay in prison." Lifting his wrists up, Spider-Man quickly shot out two webs that slammed the Vulture onto the side of the building.

Unable to move but still having the gun in his hand, Vulture held down a hidden button on his wrist and the Anti-gravity Generator on his back began to whirl! Pressing the legs of the exoskeleton to the wall, the machinery began to let off strang noises as the wall broke broke away and launched the Vulture into the air!

Desperately trying to escape, Vulture began desperately flapping his wings as webbing and brick was still attached to his back. He saw out of the corner of his eyes the boy in the red and blue suit chasing after him, swing between buildings with his web.

Suddenly an alarm began blaring as he was low on energy, he'd normally have ten minutes of energy but he'd been maxing out his equipment and increasing the energy input.

"This kid is using the buildings to chase after me, ill have to get above water to get away from hi-" *Shwick*

Feeling an unimaginable pain bloom from his neck, Vulture looked down to see a knife stabbing into the right side of his neck! Before he could even react, the knife moved forward on its own and sliced through the front of his neck!

As his consciousness faded and death enveloped him, the vulture looked up to see the knife flying over to a shirtless man flapping a pair of large bat wings.

Like this, the Vulture died!

Grasping onto the bloodsoaked knife, Nick immediately stuck his thumb into the blood. Using the shapeshifting power he got from his Ghoul, Nick took the form of a blonde haired Caucasian man from Connecticut.

It was quite easy for Nick to get hair for disguises, he just had visit barber shops and rummage around in their trash cans.

He of course wore a face mask so people didn't see their own faces committing crimes, but if he did somehow leave behind any evidence, at least it wouldn't be Nick's.

"Y-you actually killed him!" Hearing a voice from behind, Nick turned around to see Spider-Man hanging on the wall of a building.

"...You're right, I did kill him! Just like how he killed people during his other heists, he deserved it!" Nick started playing an artificial vigilante persona.

While he did think Vulture deserved death, Nick didn't think he should be the one to do it. Adrian Toomes should have been given the death penalty for killing those people, but sometimes the justice system is flawed.

Nick didn't like playing judge, jury, and executioner but he knew most of the villains would escape jail to get back out to kill again. With Nick killing them, he could put the Vulture's genius to work for people instead of for evil.

Looking at the five slots on his arm, Nick pressed the blood thumb into his fourth slot, switching the polar bear out for Vulture!

The collapsed and splattered body of the Vulture who fell to the grohnd began turning into invisible particles that flew into Nick, the particles of the bear flew out out of his slot and into the air.

Nick felt an overwhelming searing pain enter his head as the neural pathways in his brain began to change and foreign knowledge entered it. He wanted to take his time to processing everything, but he "sensed" a web coming towards him with echolocation!

Turning his arm just in time, Nick's hand got wrapped in Spider-Man's webbing instead of his wings.

With his arm attached by webbing, Spider-Man began to yank on the web sending Nick flying to the ground. Still reeling from the pain of absorbing Vulture, Nick instinctively shot out a thick strand of green webbing onto Spider-Man's own web, it was Nick's acid threads!

Spider-Man's webbing was quickly burned through as Nick was launched downward but he immediately began to escape. His mind was finally clear and everything made much more sense to him.

Seeing Willow Lake off in the distance, Nick immediately rocketed towards it!

Nick was fast with his wings, but Spider-Man was faster swinging. He shot multiple webs at Nick, but they were all dodged without looking, thanks to his echolocation.

As they arrived near the water, Spider-Man began to falter thinking Nick would fly over it and leave him in the dust, but instead of flying he dived bomb downward!

The wings on Nick's back retracted, and he splashed into the water!

Spider-Man felt relief. He didn't know why the man didn't just fly away, but he was grateful. Eventually, the man had to resurface for air and Spider-Man would be there to catch him!

Unbeknownst to Spider-Man, Nick did not need to resurface for air at all! He quickly swam away from Willow Lake and into Flushing River.

Eventually resurfacing eight hours later and dozens of miles away, Nick had dropped the Ghoul's shapeshifting ability and regained his normal appearance making it impossible to discern it was him who killed the Vulture.

Nick sat on the edge of the river bank with a smile plastered on his face. He absorbed a true, bonafide genius and now could finally begin spending his money!
