Chapter 1 - An offer from God

If after death you were given a choice, which would you choose?

First, undergo a divine trial that will weigh your good and bad deeds to determine whether you will go to heaven or hell, or be reincarnated.

Second, being reborn with intact memories into another world full of danger and chaos, which had killed ninety-seven of the previous Chosen Ones, and was on the brink of chaos.

This fat youth without hesitation immediately chose the second option.

Why? Because it was his dream.

In the heaven that is above the multivers, two people are sitting facing each other.

The first was an extremely handsome god, who would instantly make any mortal woman who saw him scream kyaaa!

The second was a fat youth with dull skin and disheveled hair, it was clear that no woman would fall in love with him with a single glance. If there was a woman here, she would definitely curse the fat youth to scram and not disturb the beautiful scenery.

"You're dead."

"I know."

"…"

"…"

'Why is this god making clear what is obvious?' thought the fat youth. 'What kind of awkward atmosphere is this?'

"I am the God of Luck."

"I am Lucas."

"…"

"…"

'Did I tell you what awkward atmosphere is this?!' he couldn't help but scratch his head. 'I want to go home… ah! I'm already dead.'

"Normally when someone died they would immediately undergo the divine trial. But you are different, you are given the choice to go to-"

"To another world , right?" He shouted out of too much excitement before the god had finished speaking. "Finally it's my turn to go to the other world! Woohoooo!!!"

He celebrated with his fat. He was so happy and excited that he cheered loudly and jumped up and down, making his pot belly bounce up and down.

"You are wrong, what I want to say is you will go straight to hell without trial."

He immediately froze in place. His body, which was fat and stiff from shock, immediately fell down with a thud. His world seemed to be destroyed.

"I'm just kidding, you really were given the option to be reincarnated into another world with intact memories."

"It is not funny!"

"So next time don't interrupt other people's words."

"… Forgive me." He said regretfully as he returned to his seat. "By the way, what kind of world am I going to come to? RPG, cyberpunk, western fantasy or eastern fantasy?"

"That world is called Elysium, and it is an RPG world. Doesn't that suit you who like litRPG novels?"

"Ohh!! It's gonna be fun. I really like litRPG because of the character development it provides, and actually I don't really like litRPGs where the protagonist is overpowered at the start, it's boring for me. Even though many people like the OP protagonist, but I don't like that. The reason is several things, the protagonist of the OP is often arrogant, and I don't like that; if they are not arrogant, then they will be made a fool by the author, knowing no limits and how extraordinary their own strength is; it's really sickening."

'He babbles so much,' thought the patient God.

"And what I dislike more about overpowered protagonists is stupid harems. It's not that I don't like harem stories, but there are a lot of harem stories that I really don't like. The female characters in harem stories are often weak, only there to spice up the story, and most of them are stupid women who only love the protagonist's p*nis. You know what plots I hate the most in harem stories? It was a plot where these weak women caused trouble and in the end made the protagonist go to great lengths to help them. If I am reincarnated, of course I will create a harem, but I will never fill my harem with stupid women who are useless and can only cause trouble for me."

Lucas the dreamer of another world, he really likes novels to treat his longing to go to another world, and also as a deterrent so he doesn't kill himself by making a truck-kun run over him.

"Okay, enough. You can do that when you've reached another world. Now is the time to discuss your goals, why were you sent to another world?"

"To save the world, right?" Reference to the answer is the number of novels he has read.

"No."

"Eh?"

"Your goal is to kill the God of Demon, after that the world will automatically be saved."

"Isn't that the same."

"No, you can save the world without killing the God of Demon, but you can't kill the God of Demon by saving the world."

Smart and sensitive Lucas immediately knew the essence. "Ohhh, so the problem is between the heavens and that god, not the heavens and that world."

"You are indeed intelligent," the god praised him. "I didn't choose you wrong."

"But it's about slaying a god, can the mortal me do that? Why don't you guys who are also gods kill him?"

"That's not possible. We gods are powerful, but we are strong because of the authority we hold. For example me, God of Luck, I am strong because I can manipulate luck. But we have limitations, where we don't have the potential to be stronger."

'So that means no god in heaven can kill the God of Demon. Doesn't that mean the God of Demon is the strongest god?' he realized that before the anxiety arose in him. "Will I really be able to kill that god?"

"Don't worry, we will support you by imparting extraordinary skills."

He calmed down a little hearing that.

"Then, what's my reward if successful?" he asked though he didn't quite expect it. For him, going to a fantasy world was the greatest gift one could receive.

"There are three things you can take: becoming the god of Elysium, becoming the next God of Demon, and becoming the lord of hell."

"Wait a minute, will you guys let me become the next demon god? You guys aren't going to antagonize me after that, are you? Or send another chosen one to kill me?"

"Relax, that's not going to happen. Even though demon gods and demons themselves are evil, they are necessary for balance."

"Ohh…" but his high curiosity immediately realized something. "Then why do you want the God of Demon to die?"

"He thinks the gods are the rulers of everything, and he wants to be the sole ruler of everything. That's why he wants to kill us all, and that's why we want him to disappear."

"I understand, so please quickly send me to Elysium so I can finish off the God of Demon quickly."

"Wait, don't rush."

"What else do you want to talk about?" The impatient Lucas asked with a slightly irritated feeling.

"Infinite Stamina, Infinite Mana, Infinite Money, and other great abilities, everyone who is selected will be allowed to have one of the list of extraordinary abilities."

Lucas's eyes widened in shock. Every ability this god mentions, isn't that a cheat? With just one of those extraordinary abilities, wouldn't the path he was about to tread very easy? Would n't he become the strongest quickly?

"Ninety-eight chosen ones, have died."

"What-"

Lucas' mouth opened wide in surprise. He couldn't believe what the God of Luck was saying. Each of the chosen ones has an extraordinary ability like unlimited mana or limited stamina, how can they die? With such extraordinary abilities, shouldn't they be able to rule the world easily?

"They must all die of age, right?"

"There is only one who died of age."

There was only one who died of age, so one could say the rest didn't die doing missions.

"This world is very dangerous. Everyone has the same main level limit , which is nine hundred and ninety nine. Everyone has no limit on the amount in choosing a class. In fact, the strength gap between the levels was extremely long. Moreover, leveling up is extremely difficult, it makes the gap even bigger."

"…I can already imagine the hardships of living there…"

"And do you still want to go to this world?"

"Yes of course." He immediately answered.

Even if elysium was a dangerous world, it was still another world, and of course those who dreamed of going to another world would still go.

"Then let me say one more thing."

'What else this time?' he was truly about to reach the pinnacle of impatience.

"The tool we used to reincarnate the chosen ones with full memories, can only be used a hundred times, and you are the hundredth. Which means, you are the last chosen one."

"…" he listened silently. He felt this was an important matter.

"If you fail to complete your task, then there is no hope. That God of Demon was the god of demons, and he was a pure evil being who didn't care about the other races at all. So let's just say that if you fail, then races other than demons will either be annihilated or enslaved by it."

"The races of Elysium?"

"This problem is on a multiverse scale, so of course it won't just be the ones in Elysium that will be destroyed."

He started to have doubts. If he continued, then he was the last hope, if he failed then countless people would die. The responsibilities and duties that he will carry out will be enormous.

"I'd like to ask. Of the many fictional stories I've read, most of the protagonists who get chosen to go to another world are losers, unemployed, who fail in love, have ugly looks, are fat. Honestly, I come from that group. But I even wonder, isn't this a serious problem? This is a large-scale problem, so why are the losers chosen? Why aren't qualified and successful people selected? If this were fiction, then the god would say things like this: because you are a good person who deserves a second chance, or, because the god is sympathetic to a protagonist who has lived in misfortune for too long. What do you think, god?"

"The answer is of course so that the readers will continue to follow the story."

"…"

"The reason why the protagonist has a bad background and is full of bad luck, of course, is so that the readers feel sympathy and empathy for the protagonist so that they will continue to follow the story. They or the readers, want to see the protagonist from this unfortunate background find happiness."

"Ohh… so that's the reason why many protagonists have a bad past."

"But I'm not a fiction writer, I'm a god, so my reasons for choosing you are also different."

"Why did you choose me?"

"O you person who m*sturbates every night who is addicted to social media who has difficulty communicating with other people who are in debt and also unemployed, listen carefully to my reasons for choosing you!"

"Your Exelency, you talk too much!!"

"When I did the raffle, your name came out, so I chose you."

"Hah…?"

"I put a thousand names into the box, then I shuffled it, after that I took one name from the thousand names, and that is your name. So I chose you."

"So the reason you chose me wasn't because I was good or because you sympathized with me, but because of the lottery??"

"Yes you're right."

'…What is this…?'

"I am the God of Luck, whatever I choose is extraordinary luck. Or, you don't accept it and want your reincarnation to be cancelled?"

"No, of course not." He was terrified, and quickly said, "Whatever it is, I accept it. Please don't cancel your choice, I swear I will kill that God of Demon."

"Good, then let's create your character."
