Chapter 152 - 'Forcing' Kiana to learn

Kiana felt confused

Though she's aware Adam possesses some miraculous and magical powers….Isn't it a bit too magical to transport them both into an empty classroom- without her even feeling anything at all?

Of course…Since she's too bored to think, she'll put all the blame to miraculous magic!

….

"Er…."

Kiana blinked repeatedly, her brain blanking out as she struggled to come up with any words to reply with

"Adam-senpai…." She opened her mouth to speak, her blue eyes fixed on his outfit, "…You look kinda goofy."

It's true, he looked both like a teacher and a magician…Very goofy and unfashionable

Of course, it could be considered cool….But only to middle graders

She didn't consider herself to have a great fashion sense (Mei is far better than her in that regard), yet….This outfit really doesn't fit

….

"....."

Adam paused, hands freezing in place

"What a pity." He sighed sadly, slowly shaking his head in disappointment "I thought these clothes would make me cooler…."

Putting his hands behind his back, he stared at her

….

Of course, the silver-haired boy himself wasn't going for a good aesthetic.

He just wanted to have the freedom to don an outfit that he would never wear in real life

….

"Of course…." Smiling, the silver-haired boy reached out and adjusted the monocle in his right eye. "If you knew what this monocle represented, you'd most likely be screaming in fear."

"Ah?"

Kiana tilted her head in confusion, a question mark almost manifesting on her forehead

"...Nothing"

In response to her silent doubts, Adam merely waved his hand and pointed at a random seat in the classroom

"Come, sit there. I shall make you the best student of St. Freya!"

"...."

She shrugged, burying her doubts in the deepest part of her mind.

After all, he was always like this- saying random things and potentially references that only he understood

'Hm…'

Actually, she always wanted Adam-senpai to read Homu manga and play some games with her! After all, if he did, she would always understand the references he'd made!

The white haired girl tried

…However, after he read the first page of the Homu manga, he clicked his tongue, sneered, and said 'Trash!'

It was the same with games!

After he played one round with her, he said with a weird expression: 'This is kinda bad…Something is lacking.'

'Maybe his standards have increased after seeing stuff from other worlds?'

Though it sounded reasonable in her head, she still couldn't accept the fact that anyone who doesn't like homu exists!

'I've decided! I'll definitely ask Adam-senpai for manga and games from other worlds!'

….

In thought, Kiana confidently strode over and sat on the chair he had pointed at

"Hey, Adam-senpai, where are we?"

Bouncing her body up and down on the seat, the white haired girl asked

…. Everything felt so real, so obviously, this wasn't an illusion, or a dream

"…"

The silver-haired boy tapped his chin, as if trying to find the right words to explain it to her

"We're basically inside your mind." He shrugged, "I just used some power of mine to influence it and take control of it."

He just used Jogan and expanded upon a technique similar to Itachi's Tsukuyomi

….

"Woohoo!" The white haired girl shivered, her eyes widening, "Sounds scary!"

It sounded very villainous, and anyone would be terrified merely by his words-

However, the silly white haired dumpling didn't look scared at all

"It is scary."

Shrugging, he grasped his black tophat, pressing it further downwards on his head

"But it's for your own good, isn't it?" Adam sighed, pursing his lips, "Without this…I'm afraid that you'll fail the upcoming exams."

"Hey, I'm not that stupid!"

Kiana slapped her hands on the desk, refuting with a shout

-Unfortunately, she doesn't seem convincing, not in the least

"I agree"

However, he nodded quite easily, as if actually convinced

"Eh…?"

Seeing his reaction, the white haired girl tilted her head, her eyes looking at him, puzzled

"What?" He raised an eyebrow. "We both know you aren't actually stupid. You're just….too lazy to think."

Kiana wandered the world alone for years….as a child.

No, she isn't stupid. Even in academics, she isn't hopeless.

She's just unwilling to think when she's in a comfortable state

"That's right!"

Kiana's eyes lit up, a smile blossoming on her face

"As expected of Adam-senpai! You found out that I'm actually a genius and that I am only pretending to be stupid!"

She nodded rapidly as her blue eyes held relief- with an 'As expected' look

"Alright, miss Genius…."

Adam chuckled, smiling once again

"Then I'm sure that these upcoming exams will be a piece of cake for you, right?"

"Guh…..!"

Grasping the monocle once again, the silver-haired boy ignored her nervous gulp and pointed at the bookcase that was in the classroom some distance away from her

It was pure black, with each shelf being filled with books.

Though it wasn't massive, the mere titles of all these books were enough to send shivers down her spine

"Everything you need to know to get perfect grades in the exam is in that small 'library'." Turning around to face her, his smile widened, "You have one hour to learn what you can before taking the exam."

Though Adam was smiling widely, this same smile looked demonic in Kiana's eyes

"W-what…!?"

Kiana once again opened her mouth to speak and protest-

"If you fail, time will reset, and you'll go back to your previous spot."

However, she was interrupted by his casual words.

Adam crossed his hands in front of his chest and continued speaking without any trace of pity

"The timer will reset, and you'll have to study for the exam again."

The light in her brilliant blue eyes slowly dimmed

"Don't worry, 72 hours here are only 1 hour in the real world. You have plenty of time~"

"Y-you…"

Kiana's eyes widened in horror, her body trembling

"You're so evil!"

With his smile turning into a smirk, her expression turned aggrieved, eyes watering as if wanting to cry

"It is what it is. Sometimes, you have to do what you have to do, right?"

She covered her ears, her face turning dull and lifeless

"Oh, if you manage to score 69 in the exam, I'll give you the skill to be able to directly 'scan' a book and have the knowledge written imparted in your mind."

"!!!"

In her eyes, a spark of hope ignited. On her face, her expression twitched, as if life had finally returned

"However, I'll restrict its use to once an hour….Since your brain might just explode if you use it recklessly."

The spark of hope in her blue eyes instantly extinguished

"Noooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Thump

She shouted dramatically, slumping on the desk and banging her head against it

"Come on, Kiana..." His loud voice echoed throughout the empty classroom, "I believe in you!"

Kiana pursed her lips.

….

She felt touched- Wait, no! Isn't this cheap boyfriend of hers the culprit of all this suffering?!

….

"If you don't believe in yourself….Then believe in the me that believes in you!"

"You're right!"

The white haired girl slapped her hands on the desk again with unbridled passion and ferocity. She stood up, regaining her backbone

….

Instead of sulking all day and complaining, it would be better to study and pass the exams

…Even….She could surpass Adam's score and teach him a lesson he'd never forget!

'Hehe….I will also say 'Ha! Take this!' to Mei-senpai, and watch her surprised expression….hehe, then both Adam-senpai and Mei-senpai will be looking at me with admiration and worship….'

….

"Hehehehe…."

Adam looked silently at the fantasizing white haired girl who had put her hands on her cheeks and was giggling without any restraint

"....."

Though he was speechless….He wasn't about to pry into whatever this future Valkyrie was thinking about.

After all, why bother trying to understand a Tuna's thoughts?

Though….

"Uh…The hero always needs to get rewards after every trial."

Adam spoke with restraint, thoughtfully looking at Kiana

He didn't want to give her too much- only something to motivate her

Sure, he could definitely force her to study….But most of the time, an approach where threats are mixed with benefits works best

"Considering this, if you get over an 80 score…. how about I go on a date with you?" He paused, and after careful consideration, he added: "I'll also give you a skill that will make you remember things more easily."

"....."

Kiana remained silent

After a few seconds of silence

"Ah! Screw it!"

She jumped, standing up and leaping over the desk

"Alright, Adam-senpai, I'll do it, and I won't complain anymore!"

The white haired girl approached him with skipping steps.

Adam remained silent, his hands ever-present behind his back as he acted 'aloof'

"But…" As she reached close to him, she leaned forward, looking up at him with eager eyes. "Can you give me some basic knowledge to start? Pleeeeaseeee?"

Her eager eyes were looking more and more like puppy dog eyes-

"....Sure"

After only one second of hesitation, the silver-haired boy nodded

It wasn't because he couldn't resist her cute eyes and begging expression; it was only because he had to make sure Kiana at least had a basic foundation of knowledge!

"Yay!"

Her eyes lit up, a wide smile blooming on her face

"But-"

Kiana froze as he suddenly interrupted her joy

"I'll give you some foundational knowledge, but first…."

Adam turned his head, tapping his cheek with a cheeky smirk

"You have to give me a kiss!"

"Eh…?!"

Kiana's mouth gaped like a fish as she stared at him with baffled eyes

This was too sudden!

"What? Don't tell me that you, Kiana Kaslana, a warrior and the future strongest human in this world, won't even dare to give me a kiss on the cheek?!"

Adam put his hands on his hips, staring at her with dissatisfaction apparent in his eyes

"No way!" She huffed, lifting her head proudly, "This lady can do anything!"

She knew that he was provoking her into action….But just because she knew that, it didn't make this taunt any less effective!

"I'll teach you to never provoke me again!"

With this short sentence, Kiana stood on her tiptoes, leaning forward with confidence and-

Muah

Her lips made contact with his cheek

"T-there!"

She quickly leaned back, taking a few steps backwards

"Are you satisfied now?!"

She seemed confident….However, her ears were flushed red

"Yes…Very satisfied"

Adam nodded with a smile

Ultimately…He still thought that Kiana would be braver.

Still, a shy Tuna is also a cute Tuna, so he has no complaints

….

Snap

After a light snap of his fingers, the white haired girl's expression twisted into a painful frown

"There you go"

Normally, transferring basic knowledge isn't painful

Unfortunately, Kiana's basic knowledge of academic studies is very lacking- so he has to transfer a surplus

"See?" Adam sighed as her face gradually eased up. "Wouldn't it be better to gradually comprehend at your own pace?"

"Hmph!"

The white haired girl snorted, crossing her arms under her chest and pouting

"At least you should have warned me!"

"..."

The silver-haired boy's eyebrows twitched

Oh….This will be fun

..

.

Adam opened his eyes

His sight reflected a messy room with books scattered all around

The owner of the room was curled up in the bed, as if sleeping.

"...."

For a few seconds, silence befell the room. The boy remained standing still, like a statue

'Will it work?'

He voiced his doubts inside his mind to himself

[With this method, individual Kiana Kaslana can definitely pass the C-rank Examinations]

[However, it is not the most effective and efficient solution]

The voice of [Great Sage] echoed in his mind, dutifully predicting the outcome based on Kiana's behavioral patterns

"It's unfortunate, but for now, it should be enough."

[Affirmative. With individual Kiana's academic intelligence, anything more than this method would be overwhelming.]

Sighing, the silver-haired boy extended his arm, his palm pointing towards the white-haired girl lying on the bed peacefully

"After all, it's true what they say- slow and steady wins the race!"

Light bloomed, before dimming-

The overwhelming glow that illuminated the whole room for one moment receded. From his extended palm, three dim, white, orbs of faded light emerged and floated

Slowly, ethereally, and orderly, they hovered over to Kiana-

They reached her head, but they didn't stop. Instead, they continued, sinking into the white haired girl's forehead with no resistance

 "...."

Adam retracted his hand, his gaze leaving Kiana's unconscious body

-That's right, he bestowed three skills upon her….Three boons, so to speak

[Mental Exhaustion resistance] [Mental Recovery] [Sturdy mind]

All skills to help Kiana study for as long as possible, without getting mentally tired and exhausted.

After all, Adam wasn't a blackhearted capitalist. As her boyfriend, he had the duty to make sure poor little Kiana doesn't get mentally dull by long-term study!

[These skills should improve efficiency…However, with individual Kiana's attitude, they will make no difference.]

"....I know"

He sighed once again

-Indeed, no matter how many continuous hours Kiana could study without getting exhausted….It wouldn't matter if she herself didn't want to study

Motivation is what is most important

Without it, the Tuna would make no progress

'....But fast progress should motivate her, right?'

[...]

Great Sage didn't reply, and Adam didn't wait for a reply

Instead, he turned around towards the door and exited the lazy Kaslana's room
