"ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!"
Prefect Erden threw the report onto the table.
Sitting across from him, Prefect Saran calmly picked up his cup of tea. Unlike Erden, who had a large build, thick brows, and a face that seemed permanently displeased with the world, Saran appeared much gentler. He was dressed neatly in dark blue robes, his long hair tied back with a simple ornament.
"The price of meat has increased again," Erden complained. "If this continues, people will start fighting over a piece of roasted deer."
Saran chuckled. "I doubt it will become that serious."
"You don't live here."
"Fortunately."
Erden glared at him, causing Saran to lower his cup. "I'm joking."
"Hmph."
The two had originally been discussing trade between their prefectures. Naran Prefecture was only a few kilometers away from Turgan, and merchants frequently traveled between the two, so whatever happened in one prefecture would naturally affect the other.
