Chapter 839 - Kirei and Kiritsugu, two people who are the same but different

Back to a few moments ago.

More precisely when Rin had returned home, she went straight to her bedroom on the second floor.

Aoi and Sakura looked at each other.

The former asked anxiously, "Sakura, do you think what mom did was too much?"

What she meant was obviously about what she did to her husband and deceiving Rin about how he died.

"Mom, it wasn't too much and you did it to get revenge for what I went through."

"It's not your fault, but mine."

"Onee-chan just needs time, I'm sure it won't be long before she comes out of her bedroom and becomes more energetic."

Sakura sounded confident when she said that.

Medea was a Servant, so she refrained from interfering in her master's family conflict.

Maiya didn't say anything either.

But if they had to say anything, it was about Sakura. She was a scary girl!

Was it just their feelings or was she manipulating Aoi?

And Aoi? She felt better after hearing what Sakura said. But she shook her head, "No, it's not your fault, Sakura. It's Tokiomi's fault, if only he loved his two daughters more, our family wouldn't be what it is now."

Poor Tokiomi.

Even after he died, he was still mocked by his ex-wife.

On the other side, Rin looked at a picture card of a woman who was strangely similar to her.

But unlike her, she was like a mature version of her and very beautiful. When Eiji gave her this, she thought he was playing a trick on her.

How could something like a picture card give her powers?

But after she touched it, she knew it was probably true.

From the card in her hand, Rin felt the resonance between them.

"Eiji said, I should think more before using this card because after using it, I might also be influenced by Ishtar."

The man she was referring to had told her the details about the character card in her hand.

She knew Ishtar's identity but for the sake of killing the man who had killed her father, Kirei.

Rin closed her eyes and imagined the strongest move, she did not know why the way to use it required her to do this.

So, she imagined herself possessing a mountain of jewels and used her family's magic, Jewel Magecraft to create a huge explosion that could kill anyone.

Instantly, the card in her hand became particles of light and entered her body through her chest.

When Rin came to her senses, she felt her magical circuits filled with so much magical power that she feared they would explode.

She opened her eyes in panic, but was stunned to see her reflection in the mirror. Her green eyes turned red and whether it was just her hallucination, her hair became darker.

"This is... Ugh!"

Her head suddenly hurt and she heard a woman's arrogant voice inside her head.

{Little girl, I don't know how you were able to pull this Goddess' soul into you. But I know what you want, you want my power, right?}

{I like your looks, but I don't like giving things away for free.}

"Ishtar, what do you want?!"

After the pain in her head subsided, Rin scrutinized herself in the mirror as if talking to someone else.

The scene was rather frightening.

She looked like someone possessed.

It was not wrong because the character card of the Miss System allowed Ishtar to possess Rin's body.

The mechanism was somewhat different from Sakura's Angra Mainyu character card. It was not easy for Rin, she still had to negotiate with Ishtar.

{Fufu, first of all, call me Ishtar-sama. Show your respect for a Goddess, little girl.}

Ishtar demanded respect.

It was easy for others, but a tsundere girl like Rin?

She bit her lip and reluctantly said, "Ishtar-sama, are you satisfied?"

{No, that's just the first condition. Second, I want you to praise me.}

That woman also liked to be praised.

Rin grew annoyed, "Change your condition, praising myself in front of the mirror makes me look narcissistic."

{Do you care about that? Then, I won't give you what you want~}

Ishtar's voice sounded playful.

She is an arrogant, high-handed and self-centered Goddess.

In her mythology, she also likes to demand respect and praise from people.

If they don't give her what she wants, she will ruthlessly kill them.

This is evidenced by how she released the Bull of Heaven (Gugalanna) onto earth to destroy Uruk and kill Gilgamesh after he rejected her marriage proposal.

Although it failed because Gilgamesh and his best friend, Enkidu teamed up to kill the Bull of Heaven and humiliate her in front of the gods.

To this day, Ishtar feels humiliated and holds a grudge against the King of Heroes.

Actually, Rin was lucky she summoned her soul to possess her directly. Otherwise, she would have slapped her for her disrespect towards her.

"You... You are very beautiful and as a Goddess, you are very strong!"

Rin felt embarrassed and humiliated saying that in front of the mirror.

Was Sakura also going through the same thing to become strong?

If she knew her younger sister had gotten Angra Mainyu's power so easily.

She would definitely complain and think Eiji was being biased towards her.

{Good, your embarrassment makes me quite satisfied.}

Rin tried to contain her anger.

What she didn't know was that she wouldn't have had so much trouble if the character card she got wasn't Ishtar.

For example Ishtar's older sister, Ereshkigal in the original work also possessed her body and had almost the same appearance as her.

But unlike Ishtar, she is a Goddess with an introverted, shy, gloomy, and hardworking personality.

Dealing with her was definitely easier, she would most likely give her powers to Rin right away.

"Now you must tell me how to use your powers."

Although she now possessed immense magical power, Rin had no control over it.

That was because Ishtar had not given her permission.

{Don't rush, little girl. The last condition, you must let me take over your body every night.}

"No way! What do you want to do with my body if I give it to you?"

{Don't refuse just yet, I just want to have fun outside and enjoy life in the modern world. Depending on my mood, I won't take over your body at night either.}

{Isn't this a fair exchange?}

What Ishtar said sounded reasonable.

But Rin was hesitant to give control of her body to someone else every night, it was definitely not a cheap price.

However, considering Kirei was a Magus stronger than her and even had servants protecting him.

"Alright, I agree but don't ever use my body to do strange things!"

{Hehe, deal made, little girl.}

"My name is Rin Tohsaka, stop calling me little girl."

In the end, Ishtar still called her little girl, which annoyed her.

Even so, Rin got what she wanted the most now. Soon, she came downstairs and surprised everyone with her appearance.

"Rin, what happened to your eyes and hair?" Aoi asked curiously.

Sakura, Medea and Maiya also felt the same way.

"Mom, I'm fine and will go out for a while."

Rin did not explain where she was going, but Aoi had a guess.

Although she wanted to stop her out of worry, Sakura prevented her and said her older sister was now stronger than she thought.

Eiji seemed to have given her something more or less the same.

"If you want, I can follow Rin secretly."

Medea offered an idea.

"Medea, please take care of Rin."

Aoi agreed without hesitation.

Inside the Church.

Kirei had finally decided on what he should do.

"Assassin, where are the remaining masters located?"

"The master of Rider is in England right now, but I don't know where the masters of Saber and Caster are. Berserker's whereabouts are also unknown, he seems to be dead."

The real Hassan replied. However, there were also some of his incarnations in the room. The war situation that had developed so far made them prioritize Kirei's safety.

"So that's it... Let's go to England now. We will deal with Rider, or rather I will kill his master."

"Assassin, you just need to distract Rider."

Kirei smiled coldly, he decided to use dirty tactics just like the Magus Killer, Kiritsugu did.

Not just to satisfy his dark side, he now wanted the Holy Grail to grant his wish.

He wanted to satisfy his twisted curiosity about the nature of evil and validate his own existence by watching the world burn in chaos.

Kirei is a mentally ill person.

He had now fully become an antagonist.

"As you wish, master."

The assassin was excited that his master had finally decided to make a move and seemed more motivated to win the Holy Grail War.

But just then, he suddenly sensed something and said, "Master, there is someone coming."

"Who?"

Kirei frowned.

It was now the middle of the day. Except for him, who would come to the church at this hour?

"From my incarnation standing guard outside, I saw a familiar-looking girl. It was Tokiomi's daughter."

"Rin? Why did she come here?"

Hearing Tokiomi's daughter suddenly come to see him, Kirei was confused.

He could not help but remember their last conversation where she told him to protect her father.

Did Rin come here to ask about Tokiomi's situation?

Kirei unconsciously smiled, his twisted nature made him have an idea.

He had the assassin and his incarnation hide in the darkness. Then, he stood in front of a certain statue with his back to the door.

The sound of the door opening was heard and Rin finally walked in.

"Kirei, I have something to talk to you about."

Hearing this, Kirei turned around and feigned surprise. "Rin?"

No, actually he was really surprised because unlike what he remembered, the girl standing quite far in front of him looked different from usual.

Especially her eyes, since when did she have red eyes?

"Did you come to ask about your father?"

"I'm sorry, I wanted to tell you and your mom but I was drowning in my sorrow. Before I was ready, you came to me first."

"Rin... I failed to protect your father, he died at the hands of the enemy last night."

His acting mode activated, Kirei pretended to be sad and blamed himself for not being able to protect his master.

He could probably get an Oscar for that.

"?"

Rin had a question mark over her head but then, she realized that Kirei was faking!

Her father was obviously killed by him, but he lied to her and blamed others for his actions.

Unlike in the original work, the current Rin was not fooled and could see how disgusting Kirei was.

Her father had raised a traitorous apprentice.

"Bastard..."

"Rin, I understand how you feel. You must be angry that I was unable to protect your father and hate the man who killed him, the master of Saber."

Kirei slandered Eiji.

But he did not know the man he was referring to had slandered him first.

Rin walked over while clenching her fists, her bangs covered half her face and Kirei could not see the murderous intent in her eyes.

Their distance was getting closer.

After she stood right in front of him.

"The person I'm referring to is you, Kirei... You're the bastard who killed my father!"

Rin roared until her voice echoed in the church.

"?!" Kirei was dumbfounded.

What did Rin say?

Why did his script not go well?

And no, he didn't get to kill Tokiomi with his own hands.

"Master, quickly retreat!"

Hassan came out of the darkness and was about to stand in front of Kirei, but it was too late. Rin's movements were faster, one of her slender legs wrapped in black stockings floated in the air.

She twisted her body and kicked Kirei in the stomach until she vomited a mouthful of blood.

*Boom!*

Like a cannonball, his body was thrown through walls and other buildings within a radius of several tens of meters.

"That physical strength... You can't be Rin Tohsaka!"

Hassan took a fighting stance with two daggers in his hands about to attack.

However, a golden-colored magical arrow pierced his abdomen first.

Rin glanced at the assassin indifferently and one of her hands was already aimed at him.

She had created and launched a magical energy arrow from her magic energy. Ishtar's power allowed her to do that.

Hassan died instantly but he was only one of his incarnations.

More than ten black masked figures surrounded Rin and attacked her from different directions.

He skillfully evaded each attack with minimal movement and shot several magical arrows from the air.

"Pufft!"

The real Hassan did not even survive, he died because his heart was pierced by a magical arrow.

He vomited a mouthful of blood.

"So weak, I seem to have overestimated you and your master."

Rin was slightly disappointed as the Assassin corpses lay around her and they turned into particles of light to return to the Throne of Heroes.

Her gaze returned to the front to see Kirei who had gotten up and was walking towards her with a pale face.

"Rin, calm down! You misunderstand, I really didn't kill your father!"

He said that while holding his stomach and back with both hands, he was in great pain from the previous attack.

If he was not a Magus who could strengthen his body with magical energy, he would have died instantly.

"I can't believe it, you think I don't know you tried to trick me? Kirei, I know you betrayed my father, you stabbed him in the back."

Rin said coldly.

"How did you... No, I didn't!"

Kirei almost told the girl in front of him that he planned to do that to kill her father.

Unfortunately, Rin heard the first part of what he said, her ears as sharp as a Goddess.

She was now 100% sure that Kirei had really killed her father. Many magical arrows appeared behind her.

She was almost like the King of Heroes using the Gate of Babylon.

"Rin, please. I—"

"Die, Kirei!!"

With hatred in her red eyes that seemed to glow, Rin released all her magic arrows simultaneously.

*Boom! Boom! Boom!*

Immediately, Kirei and the surrounding area were blown up by the attacks.

Moments before dying, Kirei did not understand how Rin could misunderstand and think he killed her father.

He also wondered how that girl could be so powerful!

With such power, not only Assassins. She could fight with Servants of other classes and probably end up as the winner.

Kirei's guess was not wrong.

After all, Rin was currently a Pseudo-Servant because a Goddess resided within her.

In the distance, the Magus of the Age of Gods was even surprised by the power displayed by her.

"Hiss! What did Eiji give that girl to become as strong as a Servant?"

"It's similar to Sakura, but instead of evil energy, Rin's energy reminds me of the divine power of the gods."

Medea analyzed the golden energy in Rin's body and frowned.

At the same time—

[Kiritsugu's fate is no better than Kirei's. In the original work, the two are practically similar to each other.]

[They are both "hollow" from within. Both Kirei and Kiritsugu feel empty internally, unable to feel "normal" happiness or fulfillment like most people.]

[That's why they do crazy things to get it.]

[Both are driven by an obsessive search for meaning or justification in their lives. Kirei seeks justification for his twisted nature to the point that he kills Tokiomi to satisfy himself, while Kiritsugu seeks a way to achieve an impossible "world peace."]

Eiji knows this and according to him, they are both mentally ill.

Many heroines think the same thing.

Rin walked back to the house clenching her fists.

"Well, it's time for us to stop playing chase, Kiritsugu. Your brother is dead."

"Don't you feel compelled to accompany him?"

Who is my brother? I am an only child!

Kiritsugu could only complain in his heart because right now, he was riding his sports bike to escape.

At first, he thought he was successful but after he entered the tunnel area. He did not expect Eiji to chase him in such a surprising way.

He wasn't even alone, he also brought his women (Irisviel, Artoria and Sola).

But instead of riding a normal vehicle, he was riding a golden flying ship.

If Eiji had to answer what it was.

Hehe, it was Gilgamesh's flying ship— ehem, it was Vimana! As a person who possessed the power of the King of Heroes, wouldn't it be natural for him to have it at the Babylon Gate?

He had it of course and modified it automatically with the Mechanical Emperor's skill of The Legendary Mechanic, .

So instead of having only one seat like Gilgamesh, his Vimana was bigger and enough to carry several people.

"Yare-yare."

Ladies: Don't you get tired of saying that every day?

"Eiji, Eiji, can I try piloting this flying ship?" Irisviel asked like a child looking at a toy.

"No! Irisviel, don't do that. At least not for now."

Artoria was the first to immediately stop Irisviel.

The King of Knights seemed to still be traumatized by letting the silver-haired woman ride.

"I thought so too. In this situation, let Eiji drive!"

Sola said that with anxiety on her face.

How could it not be?

This flying ship was flying inside a tunnel.

Just a slight mistake might cause them to crash!

"Iris, I'll lend this toy to you later. And Sola, calm down. My driving skills aren't bad."

Eiji tried to act humble.

But in his heart?

[I have god-level driving skills, piloting a flying ship in a tunnel is a piece of cake for me!]

Iris gave up and obeyed her husband's words.

The other two women wondered if it was true?

You have god-level driving skills, Eiji?

Come to think of it, this flying ship was so stable and turned perfectly inside the tunnel.

They were relieved that at least they wouldn't have an accident.

*Bang! Bang!*

The sound of several shots rang out.

Kiritsugu used a gun to shoot at them.

But Vimana had a magical barrier that could block the attacks.

"Tsk!"

He clucked his tongue, attacking was useless, he could only escape! Still, when he reached the end of the tunnel, his body was suddenly pulled by a force and made to float in the air.

His sports bike had already left him and jumped the guardrail to fall into the ravine.

"Didn't I tell you? The chase game ends here."

Sitting on the throne chair above Vimana, Eiji propped up his chin with one hand and looked at the protagonist Kiritsugu with amusement.

He used Ruler's Authority to hold him in the air and made him turn around to face them.

"Eiji..." Kiritsugu's face took on a grim look, he felt humiliated to be suspended in the air in a position like a scarecrow.

Especially in front of Irisviel, he felt he had lost his pride as a man.

"How do I get you to agree to let me go this time?"

"Huh? You still think I'll let you go after you didn't keep your promise? Kiritsugu, you're shameless."

Eiji smiled sarcastically.

Kiritsugu's face was hot, he felt embarrassed.

"This time I'm not lying. As long as you don't kill me and give me the Holy Grail, I—"

"Eiji, just kill him! This man is so shameless! In his position, he thinks he can make you hand over the Holy Grail to him. Does he think we're all fools?"

Sola was angry and pointed at the expressionless face of protagonist Kiritsugu.

Irisviel and Artoria even frowned, they looked at the man hanging in front of them in annoyance.

"I know it's a shameless request but I have to try! I want the Holy Grail to grant my wish to create world peace! A world without war and conflict!"

Kiritsugu shouted and then said, "Eiji, you already have it all. Power, wealth, and beautiful women. What use is the Holy Grail to you?"

"You're right, the Holy Grail is indeed useless to me."

Not just Kiritsugu, but the women were surprised by Eiji's answer.

The first was excited because he thought Eiji would agree to make a deal with him again.

"But, I have promised my Servant, Artoria to obtain the Holy Grail and grant her wish."

"Eiji..."

Artoria was moved and looked at him like one in love.

[You even took this opportunity to woo Artoria-chan? Incredible.]

Miss System, thank you for the compliment.

[Hehe, our King is the invincible Harem King!]

Leme, you make me embarrassed.

"So I refuse. Kiritsugu, be prepared to receive retribution from me. I will kill you, but for someone like you... It would be more fun to destroy your ideals first and make you lose all purpose in life."

In Kiritsugu's eyes, the current Eiji was like a demon.

If he killed him right away, he would only be disappointed at not being able to realize his ideals.

But he wanted to destroy his ideal that became the goal in his life first?

Kiritsugu felt a chill in his heart, panic and fear starting to appear on his face.
