Chapter 492 - Chapter 492: Debt Free

"Its... Its over?" Tsukiya would ask, barely able to stand up properly, having to take such abuse. She, Envy, and anyone else nearby would collapse alongside the children, smiling, laughing even. They never thought they'd find such peace, but there it was. The magic and sweetness began to fade, the land returning to normal, as the grin-to-grin sun began to set away. Just as they were at peace, however, one could hear scraping metal from within. Tattered, damaged, parts strewn about, but still functional. The Beldam wasn't willing to simply keel over, as she trudged herself across the area. Somehow still retaining the fused form, The Witch held no hesitation to rush ahead, breaking apart with each step.

She reached out, attempting to slash and rip off Harvard's face in retaliation, hoping to sneak such a kill away while everyone was on their last legs.

BANG!!!

A Cannon shot. Fired straight for her heart, a massive gumball that broke apart and snared the beast away. "Candy Magic...Budai..."

The candy began to coat around and strangle the Beldam. Despite her rage and struggles, the four monsters embedded within the House acts as her adhesive, their faces visible, their hands gripping. She'd try to eat the candy away, but all it did was simply trigger one of the monsters, Caramel, to grab ahold of her mouth, strangling it by the metallic uvula, not letting her breathe or make sounds again. She gagged and sputtered, shook her head as much as she could, but that grip maintained. "Had to use... my little angel's summons... to shut you up." Faya panted, watching as the candy began to continue its mold, creating small civilizations out of whatever space was available in the Beldam. She'd watch on in horror as she was being consumed alive by the confections.

She was remaking a new House, one from the body of the Beldam.

KRACC!!!

Right as the Beldam tried to weaponize her business partner's magic in creating such string, her jaw was caught once again. Caramel can see the shine of a massive axe, smiling as it, alongside the newcomer, simply tugged and tore the mouth apart, leaving nothing but a vacant hole, idly staring off into the orange tinge of the bruised sky. The Descendants were confused, watching as Koina and Adel come out from the wreckage, Stolas and Solomon in tow, with the former quickly creating small wyverns to scoop up the children and bring them along. The newcomer, however, made quick work in lobbing the Witch's head off, the body duplicate now gone.

A Man, seven feet tall, with a massive fur coat and cloak. Muscles toned like a sculptures, his bald head outfitted with pitch black paint. Such paint depicted a hammer and necklace, tracing itself across his forehead to give off the impression of a ponytail. Brown gloves with the two axes, a leather vest with weapons adorned on both sides. Thick, baggy pants that allowed him to survive against the toughest winters, his gaze staring into the Monster that threatened such quiet. Tsukiya immediately recognized who this man was, immediately trying to back away, prompting confusion from Faya. Envy watched on, unable to avert his own, just as lost as the 'Goddess' of Sugar. "...He's here. When did he..." He muttered. He couldn't budge an inch, his mind drifting at the possibilities, as well as the despair in knowing they were lost if they were next in his quarry.

"And that 'He' is...?" Faya asked, struggling to keep her original house sustained. Right as it was about to collapse, however, the man came and took it. Faster than anyone else, he'd grab it by the broken rooftops and immediately toss it to the Beldam's corpse, letting it break apart and fuse with the new civilization, whilst sustaining Faya in the process. She wasn't even able to notice such changes. One blink, and the next thing she knew, she was far away from those that helped her get revenge for her brother.

"Sixth Rank from the Sons of Man. 'The Human Nidhogg.'" His voice bellowed out, deep in tone, booming enough to awake Harvard for merely a moment, his eyes only able to catch his silhouette, the moon beginning to rise, the light hiding him away in plain sight. He'd close his eyes as he'd rest again, assured that he meant well. "For you all, you may call me Valk Sigrid."

"Sixth...? You're... the least?!?!" Envy couldn't help but scream, disturbed at the idea of him being the lowest number.

"The rank matters little to me. It is merely my steps to achieve my goal: to Face the King himself."

"Huh??"

Tsukiya, after gaining enough distance, would allow the man to demonstrate, his energy visible. Something was growing throughout the ground, as if he was a tree, taking in everything by the roots. A beast laid alongside the tree, one with many eyes that bore through their soul. Envy quickly understood what Valk meant. He is one of the many that wish to be tested and match King's might. "So why here?" The kitsune asked, dropping her usual tone in order to understand the Human Nidhogg.

"Reports of the Beldam ran rampant here. She took seven children a few days ago, no traces left alive. The owner of the store was nowhere to be found, only reports of a picnic site far off in the hills. I acted as Faya's soldier in efforts to find the answer."

"You were a SPY!? In MY RANKS!?" Faya couldn't help but be outraged, bewildered by such a gambit. She was less angry and more shocked, if anything, her eyes wide and at attention, her energy spiking, but not to an extreme extent such as with Valk's.

"The only way to truly get into their defenses. The only way to enter unscathed. I apologize on behalf of my family's name for such treachery. I, however, will assure you that in such need, it will happen again." He'd grab ahold of his axe as he'd store it, looking yonder at the group, more so at the children who were left cold. "If those children die by any means, I will offer my life to bring them back. They have proven themselves as warriors." He'd announce, before disappearing into the shadows of the shop.

Speechless, unable to compute what was before them, Adel and Koina were quick on taking them away, watching as Faya would take hold of the shop using The Beldam's body. She was set on changing it for good, giving a brisk nod to them, as she'd pilot such a hollow corpse. "You think she'll be alright?" Koina asked, her voice drawn from concern.

Adel looked back again, quickly seeing her change up the shop, letting the citizens properly set foot on the broken ground. One by one, they'd began to grow, to get their bearings, to be real people. They'd cry tears of joy as they'd take in the fresh air once more, life granted to them, after such strife left them unable to fend for themselves. "She's probably gonna get more headaches, but nothing too major."

Even though Adel spoke with such confidence, Koina can see the Serpent's eyes being just as wavered as the others. She does smile in the fact Faya has a proper home now, even if such was a reminder of what she lost. She hopes she's able to grieve properly, now that the person responsible is no more.
