Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

"Ouch, my head hurts."

Michael opens his eyes and he tries to prop himself up. Looking around, he found himself back in the building he found himself in before he fainted. Looking out the window, he realizes that it's still night but it feels like it was a long dream.

Suddenly, his sight begins to blur and starts to see stuff. His body starts to heat up and every part of his body begins to hurt as if ants are crawling and stinging from under his skin. Michael can't do anything but just stand there, he can't even scream. At that moment, Michael thought that he was going to die but the pain gradually disappeared.

Michael's body spasms as he tries to calm himself. The sudden pain that assaulted him has taken a toll not just mentally but also physically. As he was doing so, he felt something. It feels like a force, a wave, a movement, and serenity takes over him. All the pain and discomfort were gone, Michael walked back to the place where he woke up and sat down with his legs crossed and his hand placed on his knees. He closes his eyes and starts to control and make his breathing following his heartbeats.

At that very moment, a shock wave was released with Michael as the center, the more control he has the greater the shock wave that is produced. All the stuff around Michael started to shake and vibrate. This phenomenon continued as Michael regulated his breathing. Suddenly, the shock wave stopped as he exhaled and made a deep inhale. The energy that was released from him started to reenter. Michael who was a beacon a moment ago became a black hole.

The energy that was released returned to him. Michael starts to breathe through his mouth and the next he exhales smoke comes out. This continues until visible air comes out instead of smoke and it is hot.

Michael slowly lifted his hands and shifted to his front with the palms facing each other. As he exhaled hot air. It didn't disperse as before but gathered between his hands. The hot air starts to form a spherical shape and when it is the size of a golf ball, Michael starts to move his hands in tandem with his breathing making the shape more solid but still, the fluidity is seen as the sphere compresses and decompresses as Michael moves his hands in waves.

The air around his hand started to show signs of effect as hot and cold air mixed. The sphere is becoming unstable and the buildup keeps rising, with a flick from his left like how a person would light a match stick to acquire the ability to use flame. The spherical air that Michael had maintained burst into a ball of fire.

He lifted his right hand to eye level and observed the fire that was floating on top of his palm. The air around the fire is affected as it usually would. But, the air is not enough for the fire to maintain its structure and power if he uses it as an offense. Michael continues to scrutinize the ball of fire in front of him. Remembering the energy that he felt a moment ago, he tries to channel the energy to the ball of fire through his palm. But, no immediate result happened as the ball of fire continued to sway as if unstable.

Michael closes his eyes and tries to remember the images he had before, as he begins again to remember and analyze the images. The energy within him starts to churn and the leakage begins to solidify and flow to his right palm. Michael opened his eyes and started to consciously control the energy as the ball of fire became more stable. Smiling at the result, Michael releases the control entirely and the ball of fire vanishes in a puff of smoke.

Michale starts to feel giddy that he now can control fire. Suddenly, he starts to feel thirsty. Remembering what he was reborn into, urgency settles in. He looked around to see if he could find some pests to sate his current need and found none. Michael bolted to the door before this thirst became more unbearable.

Upon exiting the building, Michael finds himself in the middle of the forest not knowing what else to do. He decided to just walk in a direction hoping to find some little critters and a way out of this forest.

As Michael distances himself from the building. Two figures emerge from the nearby bush. Both figure are feminine but one have a larger build than the other. Both stop just before the bush and start to observe the building in front of them.

"Hei, Goldeye, do you think what we felt just now came from inside the building?"

"Shut it, Wildfeet, I'm trying to extrapolate here."

"Can you stop calling me that, at least give me a cool nickname." the other started to bicker, unsatisfied with her friend.

"Again, shut it. And yes. I believe the rush we felt just now came from inside the building. But on our way here it stopped and now it just vanished. I think whatever cause that rush has left." the smaller size spoke as she held her partner's face hard forcing her to be silent.

Struggling to breathe, the larger-sized figure swatted the hand on her face and started to take a deep breath.

"Don't do that. Unlike you, I need to breathe you know. And the rush that you keep saying is only implying to me because you keep making a scared face when we start running to reach here." the large size spoke up after catching her breath but she also had concern in her eyes as she looked at her friend beside her. Feeling uncomfortable with her feelings, she farce herself to smile when a mischievous thought became known.

"Wow, the great and mighty Goldeye is scared. Did her natural enemy finally make its move? Do not worry, for SharpFeng will be here to protect you." the large figure started to nudge the smaller figure with the intention of annoying and it did.

The smaller-sized figure lifted her hand to swing but stopped when her friend lifted her own hands in surrender.

"Alright alright. I am sorry. I just don't like you making that face. OK? Now, let's get out of here. The Patrol will be arriving soon and I believe your family also felt it as well. So, you better get going."

Giving her friend a silent agreement, both of them split up returning to their respective home.

In the forest not far from the main road of the small town called Folks, stands a tri-level glass mansion. The family that inhabits this mansion is well-known by the people of the town. The Cullens is how they are usually addressed.

As of right now, the family sitting around the family table usually means that a family meeting has been called.

Sitting at the head of the table is Carlisle Cullen, representing his position as the head of the coven. Despite that, Carlisle never really liked to call himself as such but would act so if matters involved with the other covens. For matters of his coven, Carlisle would call for a family meeting and ask thoughts on the matter before making a final decision.

After his coven starts to grow, Carlisle has made a relationship bound among his members and rejects the hierarchy order most of the coven would do. He introduced the concept of family within his coven. Carlisle places himself as the family head. His mate, Esme Cullen, is his wife and the mother of his children. The other members that had been 'turned' by him or adopted for reasons are his children. Carlisle is satisfied with how things are going and feels proud when his children recognize him and his wife as father and mother figures in their new life.

Later, the family started to grow and be recognized by the other coven bringing the opportunity for alliance. As the alliance brings different covens together, Carlisle way of relationship and family among his coven members starts to be integrated and adopted within the alliances. Making the family bigger and wider in reach. Visits are no longer just visits to resolve coven matters but are simply visits among family members who haven't met in a long time. When crisis strikes, help is always guaranteed to come.

Right now, Carlisle is waiting for his last family member to arrive before the meeting can start. He was about to stand up to search for her because this crisis had been felt by all of the family members and he didn't know if the other coven had felt it or not. After the meeting, Carlisle will contact the other coven to ask for confirmation. He was getting up when the front door burst open but was closed more gently since Esme was giving her a sharp look. Giving an apologetic smile, the last family member rushes to the empty seat at the table.

"Now that everyone is here, let's start. Firstly, I want to confirm again. Did everyone feel what had happened not long ago?" receiving confirmation from everybody, Carlisle nodded and looked at his daughter who had just returned from the woods. Understanding his gaze, she took a moment trying to hide what she felt before she spoke.

" I was with my friend like usual, but suddenly I felt a primal fear and noticed the ground was shaking under my feet. At first, I thought it was an earthquake, but that doesn't explain what I was feeling, and since all of us felt the same. I believe the others also felt as well.

But Carlisle, there was something strange. While I felt fear, my friend didn't. She said that she felt a warm rush go through her entire body. I didn't get to ask for more details because she ran towards the origin point. Not wanting any harm to fall upon my friend, I followed her. When we arrived at the point, a huge abandoned building was in front of us. Unfortunately, the source had long vanished. I suspect that whatever caused that shockwave or something is making its way to Folks."

After finishing, she lowered her head in embarrassment. Among her and her two other sisters, she is well known to be the most fearless. For her stating that she was scared was not something she thought that she would say to her family. Her first sister who was sitting next to her noticed this and held her hand in support.

Carlisle also noticed this but kept quiet knowing his children would always help and comfort each other. All he needs to do is focus on the bigger picture and maintain the safety and happiness of this family.

After much pondering, Carlisle wanted to speak but stopped when he saw his youngest daughter becoming still. Everyone at the table also saw this and quieted down. When she came to, the oldest brother made a scrunchy face. In response, she picked up the napkin on the table and tossed it at him. As any good brother that exists in the world, he returns the gesture.

The sibling banter stops when Esme's sharp glare returns. She is displeased by how the organized table has become a mass and also at her son whom she spoke sternly.

"Edward, how many times do we need to say that looking at another person's mind is inappropriate, especially between family members."

Edward simply lowered his head in dejection despite wanting to say something but was stopped by Carlisle shaking his head. This causes the other siblings to laugh and giggle at his expense since everybody in the family knows that Edward is the golden child in the family. That means Edward has rarely been reprimanded.

"Now, Alice dear, can you tell us about your vision that you had just now? It looks like everyone can't wait to listen since you are very happy afterward."

"Of course I am happy. I have finally found my mate. I have waited so long for him but..." Alice stopped and her happy face was replaced with a dejected one.

"His still a kid currently." Esme wants to reprimand Edward but he ignores his mother and continues. "What with the blue fire around him. Also, his face is not even visible. Do you think what we felt just now had something to do with him?"

Alice became even more downcast when she heard what her brother said and wanted to go back to her room but Esme stopped her.

"Alice, dear, you have been waiting for your mate for a long time, and waiting for a few years won't make it any different right?"

Alice looked at Esme and nodded. After thinking again, she had her smiling face back. The elder daughter wanted to speak for she had found an opportunity to irate her brother because with Alice finally found her mate, he is the only one in the family who doesn't have a partner. But she couldn't when Carlisle started to speak.

"Alright, everyone. I will contact the other coven regarding the matter of what we all felt and try to confirm if they experience the same. And Edward, please don't push accusations blindly. I know you have this family in mind but the way you said it is wrong. What's more, we haven't even met this person and according to the vision, he is still a child. About the fire, so far Alice's vision has never been wrong but the added effect was always there. Remember the vision Alice had regarding Jasper once?"

Everyone nodded at that. Carlisle smiles and continues;

" So, we will act accordingly and introduce him to our world when the time is right. Alice, are you ok with that? Good, now the meeting will end here and we will come together back when I receive the answer from the other coven."

The Cullen left one by one returning to their daily life. Emmett saw his sister was somewhat down and challenged her to a game where he lost multiple times.
