"You're not mad at me anymore?" Edward Anderson had a hard time finding his voice.
Bella Scott shook her head with a smile: "You should focus on getting better. I need to go back to work."
Edward stared at her receding figure, his brow furrowed: "You're leaving just like that?"
He was a seriously ill patient; shouldn't she stay to take care of him? Why was she running away like this?
"Don't worry, I've already found a caretaker for you. I bear some responsibility for your fall this time, so I'll cover your medical expenses and pay for the caretaker." Bella finished speaking, and left the ward, settling all the medical fees at once.
Edward had a vague sense that something was amiss, but because he still had a fever, his mind wasn't particularly clear. He still didn't understand why Bella had suddenly become so peaceful and started to treat him formally.
He preferred the Bella who used to wear her heart on her sleeve. At the very least, he could tell when she was angry with him.
