Pausing for a moment, Nina added, "He can easily give up on the women he truly loved, so it's natural for him to discard you, a mere shadow, once he gets tired of you..."
Aly couldn't hear anything Nina said after that.
Her full heart may not have been met with true feelings in return. She even abandoned her principles and became the third party, only to realize that she was not getting what she wanted.
Seeing that Nina was still chattering on, Aly walked up and opened the door. "Miss Lambert, please leave."
Nina didn't plan to linger either. She walked past Aly haughtily, "If you have any sense, stay away from John Bacon. He's not a man you can afford to love."
Aly didn't want to argue, so she remained silent.
It wasn't until Nina left that Aly sat down on the sofa, exhausted.
What was she supposed to do now? Confront John? Maybe Nina was just trying to stir things up, and the truth wasn't what she said?
