Even pretending to be sad would be better than delighting in the misfortune now.
Bella touched her face, looking innocent, "No, you're overthinking it. For the sake of the bigger picture, let's temporarily break up."
"If we break up, can we still meet often? Like when I miss you, can I still come to see you?" Edward asked the question that concerned him most.
This question stumped Bella.
She didn't think that far, but Edward's question had to be addressed.
