Subject: A difficult update, a deleted account, and where we go from here.
To my readers,
I'm writing this with a heavy heart because I believe you deserve the full truth about what has been happening behind the scenes.
As many of you know, writing this story is my dream work. There is nothing I want more than to keep building this world for you. But the reality I'm facing right now is crushing.
For the past few months, I have been fighting a losing battle with payment platforms. After waiting two agonizing months to finally get a new Patreon account set up, it was deleted just nine days after its creation.
It has been since September that I last made any income. I have tried something. Ko-fi is effectively dead for me because Stripe is not working in India. PayPal, SubscribeStar, and Substack are all stuck in verification loops or flat-out refusing to verify my account. I am hitting a wall at every turn.
The pressure is becoming too much. My mother is urging me to give up and find a "regular" job. And as painful as it is to admit, she isn't wrong. I cannot survive on dreams alone, no matter how much I love this work.
However, I am not ready to vanish just yet. I am trying to pivot so I can keep this dream alive.
