Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 Mechanic Part Two

After seeing his talent, Qin Fu was struck by a singular thought. More than anything, he desired to transcend his mundane existence and become a mage of unparalleled skill. He longed for recognition and purpose beyond the limitations of his ordinary life. This one wish propelled him forward. It was a beacon amid the confusion of his ordinary life. Why did he, an ordinary worker, possess such an extraordinary talent?

And this task and talent convinced him that, to become a mage—no, he came to the paradise of reincarnation precisely because he had the chance to become a Dharma. His desire to break free from mediocrity was now tied to this new path.

After many years as a 'salted fish,' a term for those who live without ambition, Qin Fu finally saw a chance to change his fate. He remembered the bitter cold of winter nights spent without heating in his small, damp apartment. Each shiver reminded him of his stagnant life. The pungent smell of cheap instant noodles, his staple for more years than he wished to count, lingered in his memory. Now, the opportunity to turn his life around was here. It was a chance to justify all his hardships.

He has no other ability, but he has strong adaptability. Otherwise, he would have starved to death in society long ago. Qin Fu recounted the time when, faced with an unexpected layoff, he ingeniously secured temporary gigs around the bustling night market. From setting up stalls to distributing leaflets in the sweltering heat, he maneuvered each situation with resourcefulness. This kept him afloat and proved his ability to survive amidst uncertain circumstances.

Qin Fu slowly got up and looked around.

An ordinary room. Qin Fu nodded slightly. It was not the beginning of a prison, so his charm value was not just a decoration like Su Xiao's luck attribute. Yet, one object in this seemingly mundane room caught his eye. A small rune flickered faintly on the wooden table. Its glow pulsed softly, casting shifting shadows and hinting at hidden depths in the ordinary setting.

Sit at your desk and look at the books and letters on the table.

Qin Fu flipped through it carefully. The book was nothing, just some mainland documentaries. A simple flip, and Qin Fu threw it aside. He most likely couldn't get out of this city, and the mainland documentary was of no use to him.

The letter was a letter of recommendation, although he didn't know where it came from. After reading the content, Qin Fu was secretly excited. With this letter, he could come into contact with the Magic Academy.

"It seems that the paradise still gives a way, but I don't know if there are any traps in it."

Then Qin Fu got up and walked out of the room, and began to inquire about the news with the mouth he had honed over so many years of part-time work.

After inquiring many times, Qin Fu also learned something about the archmage Logiel written in the letter.

According to the beggars in the city, the archmage Logiel in the mage tower is no ordinary figure. He is described as a D-level mage. This rank means he could overturn a small town or summon a fierce storm within minutes. In paradise standards, he is recognized as a second-order powerhouse. This designation commands respect and hints at formidable magical prowess.

The letter of recommendation in his hand was not the first. Archmage Logiel had a good reputation, and he taught many mage apprentices for free; this letter of recommendation was almost in everyone's hands.

With a letter of recommendation, all young people in the empire will receive a free chance to test their magical talents.

Qin Fu weighed his options carefully. Although uncertainty gnawed at him, the hope of changing his destiny—of becoming a mage, proving his worth, and leaving behind his old hardships—overcame his hesitation. He knew that seizing this chance could give his life new meaning. He gathered his resolve and set out, clutching the letter tightly.

He decided to take a gamble; the last time he was swept away, if he succeeded, he would not only reach the mission goal but also learn spells, killing two birds with one stone. With the letter of recommendation, he walked towards the mage tower in the city.

The towering mage tower is quite conspicuous.

When he came to the door of the mage tower and looked at the walls carved with intricate patterns and the colorful crystals, Qin Fu knew that he had come to the right place. The air around the tower was alive with a swirling breeze of arcane energy. The colorful crystals emitted a gentle hum. The sensation of magic was palpable, wrapping around him like a veil and heightening his anticipation. Here, the tower seemed to breathe, whispering promises of power and discovery.

"Clang!"

"Who is coming?"

Two guards holding spears stopped Qin Fu.

Seeing this situation, Qin Fu quickly stabilized his mind. He spoke.

"I'm Yasen. I'm here to find Archmage Logiel. This is a letter of recommendation."

After saying that, Qin Fu looked at the guard in front of him apprehensively. The name Yasen was written on the letter. Qin Fu naturally took it for granted.

However, his letter seems to be a little different from what others have described.

The two guards looked at each other, and one of the guards said.

"Chiulis, look at the gate. I'll take him to see Archmage Logiel."

"Hmm."

After Qin Fu saw that the two believed him, he breathed a sigh of relief. He followed the guards inside the Magic Tower. Along the way, young mages in robes looked at him with strange eyes.

Just when Qin Fu couldn't stand their gaze, he finally came to the office of Archmage Logiel.

"Your Excellency Yasen, please come in."

Qin Fu paused outside the door, nerves tightening as he confronted the magnitude of this moment. He knew that succeeding here would be the key to escaping his aimless past. This was the test—to see if his desire to transcend his former life would withstand the challenges ahead and if his wish to become a mage would truly guide him to greatness. Determined to realize the purpose that now defined him, he suppressed his doubts and entered the office, fully aware of what was at stake.

In the room, an old man with white hair and a beard was flipping through the books in his hand.

Seeing someone come in, he slowly looked up.

Qin Fu didn't see any movement from the old man, and the recommendation letter flew automatically into the mage's hand.

Qin Fu watched in awe as the letter floated effortlessly into Archmage Logiel's hand. His heart raced wildly with shock, and a tingling sensation crawled up his spine. For a moment, he could not breathe, seized by a bewildering mix of fear and exhilaration—a testament to the wonders that spun around him. Still reeling from the magical display, he felt scrutinized as Archmage Logiel's strange glance pierced him, heightening his sense of vulnerability and wonder.

With a wave of his hand, a crystal ball flew out of thin air.

"Come here."

Qin Fu heard this and hurriedly stepped forward, placing his hand on the crystal ball at his signal.

Logier said slowly.

"Close your eyes and feel the fluctuations around you."

Qin Fu slowly closed his eyes. At first, the surroundings were pitch-black, and suddenly silver-gray spots of light appeared in Qin Fu's perception, and the crystal ball, at this time, also emitted silver-gray light.
