Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 - Do you know who I am?

After defeating the Lich Boss, the members of Dong's party couldn't hide their clear desire to kill Heo. Their faces displayed a malevolent smile and an unmistakable gleam in their eyes, revealing their sinister intentions. It was a desire that was impossible to hide. They had already gone through the experience of killing another hunter to gain more power. Their humanity had vanished from them a long time ago. Awakening had not only granted power to humans but had also changed their morality and nature. The hunters had become more savage, preying on the weak for more power.

But Heo was already well aware of this fact. He had already experienced the harsh and ruthless reality that monsters were not the real threat to humanity; it was humanity itself. Heo patiently waited for them to step into his trap, ready to trigger it. Dong's party remained unaware of Heo's trap, as none of them possessed the skill to detect it. Their party only consisted of a tank, a healer, and a swordmaster class, none of which had the ability to spot traps only an assassin or thief class have a ability to detect the trap.

"Nicely done, You killed the final boss and all the undead monsters. It was absolutely amazing. I didn't even need to lift a finger, " Heo remarked, his voice dripping with a malicious tone., his laughter echoing throughout the room.

Both Dong's party and Heo laughed aloud, their laughter echoing in the room. Dong's party laughed, thinking they would gain everything - the final boss loot and additional experience points by killing Heo. Heo's laughter was sinister, knowing he already had the upper hand, aware of their intentions, and ready to kill them all.

"Let's go. The dungeon will close after five minutes of killing the final boss," Dong announced to everyone, urging them to leave the dungeon.

Dong's party was behind Heo, with Heo being close to the gate. If Heo were to leave the gate first, his back would be exposed, providing the perfect opportunity for Dong to kill him. This was the entire plan devised by Dong.

Heo deliberately walked towards the gate to exit the boss room, intentionally exposing his back and waiting for them to step into his trap.

Their eyes gleamed with a mixture of excitement and malice. One by one, they cautiously took steps towards the exit, each one seemingly eager to assert their dominance and eliminate Heo. Without the knowledge to them, Heo's sinister grin widened as he observed their movements.

Then, unexpectedly, one of Dong's party members, a young woman, suddenly stumbled on Heo's Banishment trap spell. A strange symbol, faintly glowing with an ominous aura, appeared beneath her feet. Her eyes widened in surprise as a cold sensation enveloped her, and before she could react, the ground beneath her seemed to come alive, tendrils of darkness snaking around her legs.

"What's happening?" She cried out, panic evident in her voice. She struggled to free herself from the snake in darkness form enveloping her.

As they moved to assist her, one by one they too found themselves engulfed by the sinister traps. The ground seemed to come alive with darkness, wrapping around their legs and immobilizing them. Desperation painted their expressions as they struggled fruitlessly against the darkness that seemed alive.

Heo had cunningly set a web of traps, each tailored to ensnare a specific party member based on their movements. It was as if Heo had anticipated their every move, turning their own intentions against them.

Heo, now standing at a safe distance, watched the scene unfold with a cold satisfaction. The tables had turned, and the hunters who had planned to eliminate him now found themselves facing their own demise.

"You see, justice has a way of catching up to those who deserve it. Remember those hunters whom you killed like that," Heo's voice dripped with satisfaction, his eyes locked onto Dong's party members, staring at them with a cold gaze.

"You, do you know who I am?" Dong exclaimed in anger and agony.

"I know exactly who you are and what you've done. Your actions have brought suffering and death to innocent hunters. It's time for you to face the consequences of your choices." Heo replied, his gaze locked onto Dong and his companions, an intense and piercing stare that bore into their very souls.

"No, You fool, Let us out from here, I am a brother of Eun Young, Vice presedent of Phenoix Reborn guid, If she found out, it will be your demise soon," Dong spat out, his voice a mixture of desperation and anger, his gaze held a glimmer of hope, as if he believed his connection to power could save him even now.

Upon hearing the name Eun Young, something seemed to pierce through Heo's heart. His eyes widened in a mix of shock and anger. The mere mention of her name from Dong had ignited a fire within him, stirring a complex blend of feelings he couldn't easily put into words.

But then, his emotion transformed completly into something else, a twisted smile curled at the corners of his lips, and a sinister gleam danced in his eyes. The opportunity for revenge against her, an opportunity seemingly given by fate itself.

"I will erase any evidence that could link his death to me. A death she can't trace back to me will be the perfect revenge. She'll be left banging her head against the wall, searching in vain for answers about her brother's demise," Heo muttered to himself. His voice was cold and calculated, his sinister smile now accompanied by a sense of grim determination.

"But how will I do that? Everyone saw my face outside the gate," He continued, asking himself many questions. His voice remained steady, though his thoughts were racing.

"And if I walk alone from here without Dong's party, it will soon be all over the news," Heo's voice was filled with a mix of frustration and realization. He was grappling with the complexity of the situation, trying to come up with a plan.
