(Third Person POV)
"What just happened?" Makarov asked as Mavis walked up to him
They were in front of the Fairy Tail guild looking at the sight of destruction that was wreaked on the city.
"I…." Mavis said, "I don't know…"
"One minute, we were being overwhelmed by the armies of Alvarez…." Makarov said, "The next, almost all of them disappeared into thin air…"
Mavis gulped, "I wonder what's at play…"
"Oiiii" they turned around to see Natsu running up to them, "Gramps! First!!"
"Natsu!" Mavis said as she watched Lucy and Gray running behind him
"What the hell happened?!" Natsu exclaimed, "All of them just disappeared!!"
Makarov shook his head, "I don't know." He said, "We must locate and question Jason immediately. He must have answers."
"I don't." A voice said
Mavis turned around to see Jason walking up to them. He was covered in bruises but otherwise unharmed. The markins were still on his arms but the immense magic power he had was gone. It must've been some sort of side-effect.
"Jason!" Mavis exclaimed as she ran up to him, "Are you okay?!"
Jason caught Mavis as she threw herself at him into a hug.
"I'm fine, as fine could get." He said
"Jason, what do you think happened?" Makarov asked
As Mavis pulled away, Jason looked at him.
"I know what happened." He said, "But the question I don't have the answers to is why it happened."
"Elaborate," Makarov said
"The War is over. I guess." Jason replied, "Zeref is gone."
Mavis widened her eyes, "G-Gone? Like…" she started
"Not dead." Jason said, "At least I don't think so. Something weird and more concerning happened. He was taken. Taken by something out of this world…."
Lucy stepped up, "T-The same thing happened to Irene!" She said, "It was so strange…."
Jason nodded, "Whatever this entity was, it decided that the war wasn't worth it." He said, "It mentioned Acnologia beind sealed or something like that. Something tells me that me defeating him and sealing him away caused this."
Mavis looked bewildered at this, "Your fight with Acnologia caused it?" She asked, "It…It just makes no sense."
Jason shrugged as he looked up, "Tell me about it." He said, "I don't know what happened either. Those are the answers I need right now. As for the army, the thing must've relocated them. Why? Yea, I don't know."
Natsu looked confused, "Soo…." he said, "No….no more fighting…?"
Jason didn't pay him any attention; he was watching as Erion flew overhead in the skye, letting out a roar as he circled above.
"Does it matter?" Gray said, "For now we should regroup and prepare for any more attacks. Jason, we should fortify the city and prepare your ship."
Jason looked at him with a serious face, "I don't think it'll be necessary." He said, "But I'll have my drones and ACs patrol while everyone regroups. There's things I gotta do."
He began to walk away with a serious vibe to him.
"J-Jason!" Mavis called out
"I'm going to make sure this is all over." He said without looking back, "Don't wait up, regroup everyone. Felicity will handle the automated defenses."
Mavis frowned, "O-Okay…" she said softly,
"We'll do that."
***************************
About two hours later, after everyone was regrouped; all of Fairy Tail, the allied guilds, and the magic council forces, Jason was sitting on a hill that overlooked the destroyed city.
In his arms, Erion sat in his human baby form as he sucked on his thumb. Jason presumably had him turn back by either commanding him or forcing him via his enchantments.
"Hm…" he said, "So much destruction in so little time…."
"Uii…" Erion said
Jason looked down at him, "You're the one that caused most of it, kid." He saif
"Aaaa!" Erion pointed at him
"Yea…" Jason chuckled, "Me too. Guess we're alike, you and I."
"Uiii…" erion said and continued to suck on his thumb
"Well, kiddo." Jason said as he looked ahead with a grim face, "Your mom is gone….somewhere….I don't know where…but at least you have me…"
Erion looked up at him, his big black eyes staring right at Jason.
"If this War is really over…" Jason continued, "We'll figure something out."
As he sat there with Erion in his lap, Erza walked up behind him.
"Jason…" she said softly
Jason glanced at her, "Hey." He said
Erza approached him with her arms behind her back and gave him a slight smile.
"So…" she said, "I can't believe it's over."
Jason nodded, "Yea, me neither." He said, "For a war that was looming for months, it was rather anti-climatic…"
"Aaaaa…." Erion said
Erza chuckled and sat next to him, "How're you feeling?" She asked him
Jason shrugged, "I don't know." He said, "I have this empty void in me, I guess. A feeling I have when I don't have closure."
"Closure?" Erza asked, "You wanted to finish the war yourself?"
"After everything I did to prepare for it." Jason continued, "To end it like this….Its dumb. It leaves me with a sense of…..I don't know, it doesn't feel right."
"I understand." Erza told him, "But..Its good to have a breather…"
"I suppose it is." Jason said as he looked at Erion, "Isn't it?"
"Daaa!" Erion said
Erza smiled at Erion, "There's so much to discuss, Jason." She said, "Especially about this little one."
Jason looked at her, "I guess there is." He told her, "Wanna hold him?"
Erza blushed, "E-Eh?" She stammered, "M-Me?"
Erion looked at her, "Uiii…"
Jason handed him over to her, "He is your brother after all." He said as Erza held him, "He won't bite. Not in this form, at least."
"I…" Erza said, "This is weird…."
"Holding your baby brother?" Jason asked
"Holding your son." Erza answered
"What's so weird about it?" Jason said
"I mean…." She continued, "My whole life….I didn't know my parents….and all of the sudden, I find out I have a mother who you've slept with and had a child with."
Jason sighed, "Yea…." He said, "That is weird."
As Erza held her brother, Jason looked over to the city.
He had nothing but questions in his mind. Questions he has decided to stop at nothing to have answered.
The voice in his head, the god he was communicating with, had told him that answers will come at a much appropriate time.
When will that be? He doesn't know.
Jason looked down, "Well…." He said,
"So much for War…"
