Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 Are You an Alien?

"It's truly troublesome!"

Feeney hadn't anticipated that he would go to great lengths to open a store in the Upper East Side, only to encounter such an incident. It's clear that this poor place in New York isn't affordable for ordinary folks.

Moreover, he also bore some responsibility. If he hadn't used his skills to summon the Three Violet Chicken Nuggets out of thin air, he wouldn't have thrown them at the police station now.

In fact, upon careful recollection, Feeney felt that the robbers didn't notice anything unusual. While he was covering his face with fried chicken nuggets, the robber was about to draw his gun, and the angle of view turned towards his arms, so nothing seemed strange. They saw the chicken nugget roll appear out of thin air.

As for the other one lying on the ground, he couldn't be seen. As for Skye, Feeney didn't observe her closely at the time, so he wasn't sure if she saw it, but it didn't seem to affect her much.

Seeing her nervous appearance now, it's likely she hasn't fully recovered yet.

After sighing with a little depression, Feeney finally decided to let them go, but before doing so, he needed to ensure they weren't sent by someone.

"Why did you come to rob our store?"

"Because we're out of money!"

"..."

This response left Feeney speechless, and Skye, who stood beside him, suddenly said angrily, "If you're broke, why not rob a bank? Why rob us!"

"The bank can't be robbed!"

Skye grew even angrier at his answer and couldn't resist kicking the robber. Technically, this store belonged to her, even though she primarily made money with Finny.

After confirming they weren't sent by anyone, Feeney felt more relieved. After warning them about the rules in the area, he asked them to relinquish their guns and get ready to leave.

"Forget what happened today and be good people from now on."

Before sending them away, Feeney didn't forget to use the 'Golden Great Expansion Technique' to control them. Given their current fear of him, they would most likely forget everything by tomorrow, as long as nothing went wrong.

After watching them leave, Skye immediately locked the outside door. She let out a long sigh of relief and hesitantly asked, "Can we just let them go like this?"

"No problem."

Feeney smiled and nodded. He had taken the opportunity to discreetly clean up the three fried chicken rolls and the surveillance video on the ground.

"Phini..."

But just as Feeney was contemplating how to persuade Skye not to tell her parents about today's incident, he heard Skye tremblingly say, "Just now... I think I saw something appear in the air..."

"Three... three..."

"Three fried chicken nuggets, right?"

Feeney sighed and took over the conversation, looking at her attentively while pondering the changes that would occur in the world in the next year, as well as the issues concerning her. Finally, he said, "You're correct, and I conjured them."

Skye's face, which hadn't fully recovered, turned even paler. She took a step back tremblingly, then leaned forward again, afraid, and asked, "Phinny, are you... are you an alien?"

I am a pure earthling, but you might have some alien genes.

Feeney muttered something to himself, rolled his eyes, and said in annoyance, "What are you talking about!"

"I... I..."

Seeing Skye stuttering and unable to speak, Feeney couldn't help but sigh. If he didn't already know the situation in this world, perhaps his reaction to this kind of thing wouldn't be much better than Skye's.

"Don't worry, I'm Finny Helsaid, a pure earthling. This is just a little special ability of mine, just like this."

Finny casually summoned a fried chicken nugget roll and handed it over.

Skye dumbly took the chicken nugget roll, looked down at the food in her hand, then at Finny, and opened her mouth as if not knowing what to say.

Now that he had been discovered, Feeney didn't hide much and continued, "Don't you want to know why Brian fell down in the afternoon? You can think of that as one of my superpowers too."

"Superpowers!?"

Skye's eyes widened like a cute kitten. As a hacker, she always felt there weren't many secrets in the world, but at this moment, she suddenly felt clueless.

"Yeah."

Finny nodded, walked to the side of the sofa, and sat down, gesturing for Skye to join him.

Skye walked over and sat down without hesitation, then asked, "Do Mom and Dad know?"

"Only you know for now."

Feeney leaned back on the soft sofa, turned his head to look at Skye seriously, and said, "Skye, now that you know, let me be clear—this world is very dangerous. So, please don't investigate strange things on the internet. It'll only bring trouble. People with superpowers like us might be numerous here."

Passing the stage of fear, Skye switched to curiosity mode, as she found that Feeney remained the same as before, but she just discovered one more secret about him.

"Also, is your superpower only making people fall and creating chicken nuggets? Are there other abilities? When did you discover it?"

Skye seemed like a curious baby, asking a barrage of questions before Finny could even respond. "Do you know others with superpowers?"

Hearing these questions, Finny scratched his head in frustration. After pondering for a moment, he began answering one by one: "I feel there are many people with special abilities in this world. As for having these abilities from birth, I don't know anyone else with superpowers."

After answering, Finny looked at Skye with a serious expression and asked, "Skye, don't think I'm joking. This world is really dangerous. People like us have never appeared in society. No doubt, there is an organization or force controlling all of this, most likely the country. If you don't want me to end up being captured for experiments or something, you'd better keep this secret for me."

"No way..."

Hearing Finny's words, Skye immediately showed a worried expression. She didn't dare to gamble on such an improbable probability and promised solemnly, "I won't tell anyone."

Then she seemed to recall something and hastily added, "What about the two just now..."

"It's alright, they didn't notice."

Feeney felt the 'Golden Day Expansion Technique' was gradually taking effect. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the two would most likely forget everything about today by tomorrow and turn over a new leaf.

Seeing Finny's assurance, Skye had no choice but to put away her worries and silently prayed that the two wouldn't reveal the matter.

The air gradually calmed down, and Skye didn't continue asking because she was still worried about exposure. At the same time, she considered how she could help if something happened.

At this moment, Feeney shifted his attention to another matter—his experience slot in the extraction system was full.

He could

start the third draw!

Alas, it's freezing cold, no one's watching...
