In the airplane, like Ethan and Sasha, I tried to get more familiar with Mallory and Jin so that we would work better on the mission.
Mallory was a very decisive person but didn't look like they think too much.
Jin, otherwise, was very intelligent and arrogant because of that.
During the conversation, he usually told us some random information about different subjects such as history or science.
All of us have a similar past of suffering the discrimination of cursed blood because of our external mutation.
But, both of them still had their family after birth, so they didn't live in an orphanage.
Mallory's mother died on her birthday after her birth, but she lived with her father.
Jin, on the other hand, lived with both his parents.
None of us attended school, but Jin self-studied in his home and even receive some lessons from his mother that attended school, so his base knowledge was bigger than ours in some senses.
We all got familiar with each other during the flight and even started a friendship in some senses.
After invading the enemy's base after mid night...
Me, Mallory, and Jin were stealthily exploring the left side of the enemy's base in search of their food and ammunition.
We, obviously, walked through the camera's blind spots and could go inside some buildings to search.
After a few minutes, we finally found what looks like to be a huge food stock.
There were mostly canned food and drink.
"Jin, Mallory, look out on the surroundings, I will burn it all," I said to both of them.
They then moved out.
I then created a handful of flames in my hand and controlled the fire to cover all that food supply.
I then controlled the fire to increase the temperature in order to accelerate the process. Even though the temperature increased, I controlled the flames to not increase too much to prevent it to call attention.
After finishing burning it, I got out of the building we were in and met with Jin and Mallory.
"Let's go," I said in a low voice.
However, at that time, the alarm of the base activated, and red lights started to blink all over the base.
I looked around and didn't see anyone coming.
"It seems the other got in trouble. Let's run away first." I said.
All of us ran in the direction we came from.
But, we then found some armed people searching for us.
We had to avoid them, so we tried to take the long way to get out of there.
However, while we were running away.
We suddenly got surrounded.
Armed people came from all sides and surrounded us in seconds.
When that happened I used my fire to spread fire in all directions focusing in cover their view to find an opportunity to escape.
The fire then also started to burn the grass in the floor and a lot of fire took place in the camp.
"Come! Mallory take down the guy in front!" I said to the two that were lost in their thoughts.
The two of them woke up and followed my orders.
We took that opportunity to run away and ran in the direction of one of the people surrounding us.
Due to the fire, he only saw us when we were already near him.
Mallory then took the lead and used the pointing bone in her elbow to hit the soldier's neck.
The guy died quickly from blood loss.
The three of us use this gap in their formation to run away.
However, it didn't take too much time for us to be surrounded again.
They then didn't wait and shot at us.
Mallory then stepped in front of us and hardened her bones.
The bullets all hit her, penetrate her skin, but didn't penetrate her bone.
Therefore she got a lot of injuries, but none of them were that serious.
I quickly manipulated the fire that was expanding through the grass to cover the people who were shooting us.
Since this time the fire was not small, I could burn all of them alive.
The fire spread even more.
The oxygen started to get scarce around.
But not enough to detain us, cursed blood.
More people armed appeared, and I used the fire to burn them while Mallory used herself as a human shield.
Even Jin, who had a useless cursed power right now, because if he use his power to try to run away or get a high ground, he will surely get shot.
However, even so, he took one of those killed soldiers' weapons and started to shoot the ones appearing to kill them together with me.
Anyway, he didn't have experience shooting, so his shot wasn't so precise and couldn't help much. But, still better than nothing.
She just took a few shots every time anyone appeared, and I was able to kill the person.
However, the fire around us was announcing our position to the whole base and people didn't stop to come.
After a few waves, the small bleed Mallory was suffering was already adding to a lot of blood loss.
People then started to appear wearing fire-resistance clothes.
But, since I could control the fire with precision, I could make the fire penetrate their clothes, but it took more time to kill them, and Mallory received more shots.
In other to get some time to try to run away I decided to use my power to the fullest. Otherwise, Mallory will surely die and we won't go much later than her.
I controlled all the fire in the surroundings and controlled it to form a tornado around us.
I was forced too much of my cursed power, and couldn't hold myself to keep standing.
I end up falling to one knee.
But I have to resist and continue...
I then put both of my arms pointing to the sky, then quickly lowered them to the floor.
The flames then came to our surroundings so close that almost burned ourselves, but it was also upward, so the fire curtain was very thin.
The fire was sent as a big wave in all directions enveloping all the soldiers coming, the builds near us, and even the inside of the building in flames.
The buildings around us started to explode. There, probably were some ammunition or bombs that exploded with the surge of fire.
The explosions were the best distraction for us.
We took that opportunity to run to the nearest wall to run away from the base.
