Chapter 82 - Dragon Valley (2)

Finally, they came out of the tunnel and what appeared before them was a collosal city made out of stone and gold, beautifully crafted with spells engraved all over the massive walls and large roads.

"Nice view"(Isaac)

"Ah, yes, the city is indeed beautiful but we really need to get going"(Odhar)

With those words he continue riding into the city with urgency.

***********

The more closer to the city, the more odd it felt.

On the streets going about their lives were a combination of races; human, elven, fae and demonic. All of them wearing a glaring looking mark on their left hand, distinct from one another.

Another thing was that they acted as if the inevitable war outside didn't concerned them at all and last but not least was the fact that there were no sight of any kind of dragons.

Seeing the confusion in everyone's faces while passing through the city Odhar felt that he didn't have any other choice but to explain this odd situation as briefly as possible.

"Dragons believe that it its beneath them to do any kind of manual labor or any activity other than fighting or.... cough*....reproducing" (Odhar)

He said the last sentence with a little bit of embarrassment on his face.

"Ohhh"(All)

They didn't care, instead they glare at him with their big round curious eyes, as if saying [Spill everything].

Seeing their pleading eyes he knew it wasn't other way around so he give them an overall explanation.

"Sigh, the mark on the hands, they are [Contracts] each one with one specific kind of dragon andbthose exist to filled their own "limitations", in exchange, the lesser races receive security and protection but they needed to dedicate their entire lives and their families to the well being of their Masters"(Odhar)

'A kind of symbiotic relationship isn't'(Isaac)

*********

After a couple of minutes passing through the enormous city they finally arrived at their destination.

A cathedral like building was in front of them, two heavily armed guards were stationed on both sides of the massively close door.

The right side guard took a step forward, made a small bow and then spoke.

"Lord Odhar, Lady Azhara and Lord Xathar are waiting on the third floor" (Guard)

"Understood"(Odhar)

He dismounted quickly, followed by everyone else, after seeing that everyone were on the ground he made eye contact with Isaac.

"I'm sorry Mage but you were not invited into this meeting..."(Odhar) He made a jesture with his right hand which the guard on the left side understood.

He approached quickly.

"Your orders, Lord Odhar"(Guard)

"...this is a guest, please show him the way to the inn, now everyone else please come with me."(Odhar)

After saying those words he walked pass him and went directly into the cathedral.

The right side guard opened the door immediately.

"Sorry Isaac...I.."(Eric)

Although he was a little bit rude Odhar was right, Isaac wasn't invited but he was the one who wanted him to come along.

Seeing the embarrassment on his face Isaac didn't became upset.

"It's alright, we can all talk later, for now you'all have a mission to complete isn't"(Isaac)

"Thank you Isaac and sorry"(Eric) he quickly followed after Odhar.

"Sorry"(Mary)

"Don't go far"(Tannya)

"See you later"(Ari)

*Nod*(Guts)

All of them followed Eric into the cathedral leaving only Isaac and the two guards outside.

He looked at the guard to the left side.

"Shall we"(Isaac)

Which the guard quickly responded.

"This way sir"(Guard)

The so called Inn was more like a massive hotel building in the middle of the city, Isaac didn't know if the dragons liked everything to be as big as them or if they really receive many guest throughout the year.

"What can I do for you sir?"(Receptionist)

A gorgeous elven woman receive us as soon as we enter the inn.

"This is a guest of Lord Odhar, please give him the best treatment possible"(Guard)

"Of course sir"(Receptionist) she bowed to the guard.

Satisfied, the guard turned around and left without saying another word to either of them.

"This way guest"(Receptionist)

"Very well"(Isaac)

She lead him into a elevator kind of contraption at the end of the receptiont floor, with a push of a button the elevator started to move up rapidly.

Neither of them started a conversation she only stood there perfectly upright but Isaac could feel and see more.

'Her mana is unstable, corruption?, no there's something else..'(Isaac)

*Ting!*

The elevator doors opened on their own, the receptionist move out into a massive hallway, many doors could be seen on the walls, walking for about a minute into the right side she stopped in front of a door, with ease she pulled a key from her right pocked and opened the door with it.

"This will be your room sir, if you need anything fell free to call us with the special device located next to the bed, now if you excuse me"(Receptionist)

She bowed again and took off to the elevator, leaving Isaac there alone.

"Hmm, definitely something weird is happening here...."(Isaac) He whisper to himself.

Odhar hurriedly lead the adventures throughout the hallways of the Cathedral, his destination was a special room located on the east side.

"Please be mindful of your words and speak clear and with respect"(Odhar)

"Understood"(All)

Seeing their serious faces he nodded with satisfaction.

After a couple of minutes they arrived, another two guards where on the door but this ones were not ordinary guards, two dragon humanoid dress with powerful enchanted armor and weapons where there instead.

Odhar took a few steps made a special gesture and address the two guards with respect.

"I bring the envoys of the alliance"(Odhar) His voice loud enough to be heard from the inside as well.

Before the guards could say something a delicate and melodic voice spoke from the inside.

"Let them in"(****)

The guards obeyed the instruction immediately, opening the door by grabbing a door handle each.

"Please"(Guards)

With a hand motion, they point inside the room.

"Well, here goes nothing...."(Eric)
