Chapter 1 - prologue: I Died?!

Rewrite:

Chapter 1:

She laid on a hospital bed in a gaze, IV in her arm. She could tell she was close to dying with people coming in asking about her will, where she'll be laid to rest, and even if she wanted to be cremated. She was angry, pissed at the world. She broke her legs and most of her spine and vertebrae. She trembled having to be put on life support. She wanted to persevere but she wasn't a protagonist in some heroic movie. She was a girl dying on her deathbed with a greedy family who wanted her hard earned money. Her money that she earned from going to college and getting a damn good job. She was 23, her 24th birthday approaching quickly which she probably won't make it too with the way the doctors and nurses came in with pitiful looks and even friends coming in crying.

One of her friends, true friends, introduced her to a show but she didn't pay too much attention to it. One movie seemed the most relatable with the way this girl named Uta died at the end(from what she saw anyway).

She reminisces back when she was a toddler, and then a teenager in high school who dreaded the blessed years. She had a high GPA and graduated with honors which sparked some jealousy in her family but she didn't care. She went to college early for some degree and graduated in 2022. She was happy but now she was dying in a hospital bed because of some mistake the guide made when climbing a mountain. She didn't want her parents to worry anymore. She wanted to sleep. Let her sleep. Please. She managed to fall asleep but didn't know that the doctors pulled the plug.

She woke up in the dark, did she die in her sleep? She didn't have a clue. She couldn't move due to the confined space and she had hands, surprisingly tiny hands. Was she dead and this was limbo. She could hear gibberish but that was about it. The mysterious box opened and she couldn't see the faces too well but she was lifted out of the box. Was she a baby? She clenched her eyes and fists, too bright. She whimpered and cried, at least she could move but when was she this emotional. She could barely see, let alone hear, it obviously wasn't english.

She stayed squinting for a while, a few weeks at most. When she did open her eyes the sunlight hurt them but the man in front of her face was speaking. He seemed to have facial hair but very little. He was saying something to the group of what seemed like men around him. What in the world were they discussing. I squinted my eyes more and he seemed to have bright hair despite being gray.

She was laying on a pillow the next time she opened her eyes. She felt a little embarrassed, was he changing her? She hoped not, her nose wrinkled trying to control her body but no avail. How embarrassing. She turned her face away as he changed her diaper. How gross, is this how baby's feel?

He lifted her up after changing her and she could feel his body warmth. She giggled quietly, almost non controllable as he tickled her gently. She grabbed onto his finger where human hands always this big and rough. She tilted her head but her body responded against her will with tiredness with her body slumped forward and she closed her eyes. His chest rumbled as she gripped his shirt tight. It was a rough fabric. She whimpered quietly, her vocals were undeveloped, she didn't cry as much as one would expect being a rather quiet baby.

She had a few questions over the first few months of living on what seemed like a ship with the smell of salt. Were they on the sea? What continent were they near? What was this man's name? Who are the other men?

Over the next few weeks all she had was milk, sleep, and play time which was little due to her being a baby. She had little to no bladder control and had quite alot of urges to scream from hunger or needing changed. She was stuck in a baby's body, damn baby thoughts this was getting old..

She managed to develop bangs and hair, my voice got squeakier sometimes. My vision developed better but it was still gray all over. I blinked almost lazily like i didn't just scream my lungs out being held in front of a man. A straw hat on his head with a silly face and his voice was more silly and his voice was definitely not in tune.

I giggled sometimes at his funny face, maybe he was my new father. He usually held me when I got a check up by a doctor. It was usually always the same doctors who looked tired and seemed tired of my new dad. The shots hurt the most which made me whimper at times and cry when it hurt too bad. I didn't pay too much attention to what they were talking about.

Another month passed by quickly and my vision developed more which got me a good look at my new fathers face and even the other men. There was monkey, a man with bleached hair and tan skin, a man with a cigarette in his mouth, and the man who was holding me had vibrant red hair.

That's when I realized I knew who these men were. They are the Akagami pirates and the man who I thought was my father is Red haired Shanks and I am Uta. The Uta who was my favorite character who I related to the most.
