Robert was riding on the horse towards the royal academy in the royal capital city. He had used the power of accelerating ten times with mild power to accelerate on the way and the horse was faster than usual. He had said to his attendants coming towards the academy as he had decided to reach there by himself as soon as possible. The power of speed he had could be used in two different ways, one in the mild manner where even though the speed was faster, the effect of the force was similar to that of the force without the acceleration of the speed. This mode was useful in necessary works such as riding horse such that the different people on the side of the road to be affected by the speed or while writing on a paper. The stronger version of the speed was simple acceleration of the speed such that the force acting on the body accelerated reduced by 100 times and the force applied to the external environment increases by a hundred times.
The gate of the royal city could be seen from far away. He did not decide to slow down as he did not want to hide his power. This is the medieval society, not the scientific world neither the fantasy world. His powers were of rule based type and could not be controlled by other people or beings like wizards or gods.
When Robert saw the guard at the gate he threw over his token and passed over through the gate meant for nobles. He did not wait for the token to be returned as the token was one of the ancient relics granted to nobility, which could replicate itself, which could only last temporarily.
The guards at the gate cast a disdainful glance and commented scornfully to the colleague besides her. "Isn't it just the lowest of the nobility. He is not even as important as the rich merchants."
"Nobility is nobility. If you do not want to die, just shut up."
Robert had a wonderful memory and had learnt the map of the city and directly went towards his manor as reserved by the kingdom. The plan had been started and he was ready to climb the ladders of aristocracy. He had distributed the special seeds he had bred throughout the kingdom on the condition of getting 10 percent of the total production. He has also used his powers to speed up the all the growth of edible plants grown in the current resident kingdom. His power was such that he could speed up growth or grant speed to other people and hence could also bless with unlimited energy.
The excess of food will make sure that commerce will collapse. The principalities dependent upon production of food will face the crisis of having too much food and less money available. The lords included in other aspects will face the crisis and the lords dabbling in foods will have no other method than to sell food to the outside and import food to the inside. The economy will collapse and chaos will ensure. The lords will fight and there will be a huge shuffle of powers. Either the Kingdom will split and there will be civil war and he will be able to rise or the Kingdom will have to declare war on the outside kingdom to consume excess resources and provide the people with a chance to rise up the ranks peacefully. Even if the people find out that he was the one who had sped up the process of growth of the world, they will have to please him and he will occupy an important part in the political arena.
Robert had entered the academy. There were two servants who were carrying his suit and one other servant was taking care of his horse. He walked to the house which was allocated to him. It was supposed to be occupied by seven other people of the same rank and he had a whole room to himself. He was disturbed by the fact that he had to share the house with another person and hence he asked the timing of the classes and took the schedule from the front office of teachers station and returned to his house that was assigned to him by the court.
Robert was practicing swordsmanship when he saw that Amelia and Pepper came in front of him and saluted him. They were looking at him respectfully waiting for him to speak.
Robert smiled and said, "You should know about the difference between me and other people"
Amelia came forward a step and said, "Have you been blessed by the ancient relic, my lord."
Robert smiled and said, "something similar Amelia. I am going to bless you with the power too. But once I do so, you will not be able to have any thought against me and i will be able to kill you with a thought in case of any betrayal or the fact that I am angry with you. "
Amelia and Pepper had a surprised look on their faces. Amelia was not much surprised with the loyalty clause as her father works as the butler of the family and has been from a long line of standard stewards. Pepper was angry at this fact of being asked to hand over her life to another person, be it a lord or not. She was a wonderful swordswoman who was to be selected for the knights school. Her aspiration was to become a captain in the army. but she was asked to serve the lord and to be his personal attendant. The power to veto down any person's selection to the army in the jurisdiction of the lord was enough to make her have no other way to move forward in life, other than to join under the lord's command.
But the fact that she was asked to hand over her life and death to a person, who she had never known in reality other than through information passed through words, was enough to make her go through enough rage. She immediately took her sword and slashed it to the neck of Robert. Robert's face showed no expression but the sword in his hand slashed down at the sword coming at him. The speed was fast as to cause the distorted airflow and the sword was cut down. The slashed sword was about to hit Pepper but was stopped at just after having slashed the sword showing the power of the sword.
Robert looked at Amelia and gave an order. "I want her to be punished. Make it remember able." After saying the words for to punish the rebellious servant, he blessed Amelia with the power of speed. Amelia punched Pepper as she was interested in showing of her prowess to her lord. Pepper blocked the first few attacks but when Amelia started attacking using her feet and the style of fight taught in her family. Pepper was beat down in a few moments of time as was seen as Amelia started using her powers. After Pepper was beaten down, she was caught by her hair and taken away from the garden where Robert was practicing.
The Council of lords was specifically known to the world as the most powerful place of the world as it accounts for most of the lord's authority. Even the King in the end is nothing more than an enhanced lord and the lord in finality is the authority of rule of people over people passed down through bloodlines. The lords were enhanced humans given with powers that could challenge the world on their own. The prehistoric age was seen with people rising with power to rule over the world and the power to control people came from the fear of death of the oppressed. The age of gods was said to be whence where people became gods through power of faith, while other were born naturally as the condensation of rules and some other gods were born as gods as their race had evolved to the limit and became gods through genes. The age of gods gave birth to theocracy and the position and value of lords and kings fell as the priest rose on the mortal world. The age of gods ended with the coming of the age of heroes. The anger of man towards god, the anger of weak and oppressed, and the pride and arrogance of the lords gave birth to the age of chaos which was seen with the rise of wizards. Th age of doom was the most unseen as the gods above declared war on the humans. An unseen but could be foreseen consequence, but men or rather being with independent though never learn.
The declaration of war had the consequence of destroying the fear in the heart of mortals. The old lords were killed and the old kings were murdered. All the people of low and high birth rose from slavery and theocracy was annihilated. Any signs of the gods were removed and many gods depending upon fell into mortal world as the godheads fell into non-existence. The world was fragile to hold gods and hence the emissaries of the gods were needed to ensure the presence of the gods. The contempt of the ants was more than enough to enrage the gods who came together to solidify the mortal plane to destroy and rebuilt the order in the mortal plane.
Humans, lowest ranked in the mortals as they were neither as strong as orcs in flesh nor as strong as elves in magic. The talent was low and neither could they have the tactics of animals similar to the lowborn goblins. They were liked by gods as they never had their native gods and they were the most divided of any race. Some followed strength while others followed ideals. Humans were hit the hardest and they were oppressed the highest in the age of chaos.
The unwillingness to be slaves left them with no choice than to choose their own path to fight. The most bloodiest sacrifice in history was seen in the mortal plane. The magicians drew the rules of the plane to create artifact of lordship and human vowed never to bow to another race other than to fellow humans themselves. Two hundred million human women were drained of their blood, two hundred million men sacrificed their hearts, and two hundred million children sacrificed their sense by removing tongue, eyes, and ears and hence their future. The designated lord killed his whole family to fulfill the ritual and finally the modified magical heart formed, the hear of the lord was added to the body of the selected lord and his natural heart was used to built the rules of lordship. The angry lord rose from the magical ritual as all the wizards of humanity sacrificed their blood, magic and life and all the priests alive sacrificed their last bit of faith that they had saved since the time the gods betrayed their trust.
The human lord and his army was powerful under his blessing. All the intelligent races were under the fear of being destroyed. The gods decided not to partake directly in the war and to support each race themselves. Every being to the last living one was cut down from all other race. The gods were angry but little did they know that the world had changed. The blood of all other races were used as a tribute and the blood sword was made. The sword of the king was how it was named. The sword of the king was used to kill all the gods. The gods were cut down., their body and essence was used to build the sacred crown and the divine realm was destroyed and cut off from space and time and used to forge the divine throne. Through the blood of all surviving humans, the final covenant of the lords were formed with the body of the human lord as the basis. The human lord had lost all the emotions and his only surviving will was to protect the glory of the lords. He himself used the last bit of essence of the divine power and used himself as the sacrifice to seal and use all the mana of the world and the world became an ordinary world.
The last covenant of the lords selected different lords from the surviving humans. Their bloodline became lords of the future. The age was named the age of mankind. Legend says that when a lord united the whole of the mortal realm, he can become the supreme king and gain all the power of all races and all the power of all the gods.
