Those fucking beasts were still up there - and it had been hours. If he waited here any longer, he'd die - well, actually no he wouldn't...but it was still preferable to being roasted and eaten. He also had so much shit to do that this wasn't even worth the wait. Instead, he felt a better alternative was to make his way down into the dark, cold abyss where audible wind gusted up from below in a howl.
There were no torches.
There were no signs of upkeep.
It was just him, and this crusty-walled staircase.
"Oh, that's great. Let's go into the dark. That's fine. This is fine. Nothing about this screams danger or alarm!" He noted sarcastically out loud with a large sigh that followed.
Despite his complaints, he descended down the steep, cracked stairs and felt for a torch along the wall, but only grazed rough stone and slimy residue. "That tracks..." He blurted aloud again with a flat tone.
