Chapter 19 - Fight vs The kangaroos

*That was a good attack... although it cost more than I expected* thought Shun with sweat on his forehead as he continued running towards the kangaroos.

This ability he got a few days ago, so using it many times was difficult and required great endurance and concentration.

The kangaroos upon seeing the death of 4 of their companions began to scream angrily and their eyes went wild. Without holding the defensive line they rushed toward Shun.

The leader of the kangaroos shouted angrily at the insubordination, but it was useless as they continued to head towards Shun, *That makes things easier for me* thought Shun with a smile as he saw 5 angry kangaroos heading towards him.

This way he wouldn't have to break through a defensive line of 11 kangaroos. The first kangaroo to arrive threw a fist straight at Shun's head. The latter managed to dodge the blow, when he was about to counterattack he noticed that another blow was heading towards him, so he jumped backward managing to dodge it at the last second.

Before he could attack, the 3 remaining kangaroos launched themselves at Shun. At this, he created two air blades on both arms and cut toward the fists of the 3 kangaroos.

FII-

At the moment the two blades impacted, the 3 kangaroos' fists were cut cleanly, causing them great pain.

Shun did not miss this opportunity and with his pair of active blades, he quickly rushed towards the kangaroos, reaching their side in an instant.

Without thinking, he cut off a head with each blade, leaving only one kangaroo alive out of the 3. However, his life was short-lived, since at the moment he cut off a head, he made a quick cut that the kangaroo could not dodge.

*I have to kill these two* thought Shun as he created a current of air behind him that propelled him at full speed toward the two kangaroos that attacked him first.

He didn't want the leader of the kangaroos to have time to come and help, so he needed to get rid of these kangaroos fast.

In a fraction of seconds, Shun covered the distance separating them from these two kangaroos who had no time to react to such speed and were decapitated by the air blades.

"Whew... whew... only 6 left" whispered Shun as he caught his breath. These minutes that passed were very frantic even tiring him a bit, especially for using his powers so much.

The leader of the kangaroos was furious more than anything for the death of so many of his men or rather kangaroos. He quickly gave orders and together with the remaining kangaroos surrounded Shun in a circle.

*This is not good...* thought Shun with a frown as he saw himself surrounded. The kangaroos acted quickly and gave him no time to react, besides he was very tired, as he had killed 9 kangaroos in a few minutes.

What worried him the most was the leader of the kangaroos who should have a strength similar to that of the jet lion, only that he had 5 subordinates giving him support which would complicate the fight much more.

Slowly the kangaroos started to walk closing the circle more and more, Shun's mind was going a mile a minute looking for a solution, *He could only use the cutting wind two more times, I can't use it now* Shun thought.

He didn't want to waste this move on the normal kangaroos and wanted to save it for his fight against the leader of these kangaroos.

When they were about to completely corner Shun Shun came up with an idea.

Shun shaped an upward current of air under his feet that lifted him into the air to great heights. The kangaroos at this looked up, seeing that Shun was at a great height and his small figure was visible, still, it was a matter of time before he would come down and fall in the same position as before.

*That's not all* thought Shun while concentrating compressed air on his leg.

Shun used the force of the wind that allowed him to spin in the air. The descent was rapid, his body spiraling downward, guided by the same current that had carried him to the heights. As he was about to touch the ground, he channeled into his outstretched leg large amounts of compressed air.

BOOM!

The impact resounded like thunder sending all the kangaroos flying. The earth shook as the explosion swept everything around them. The powerful shockwave kicked up debris and kicked dust into the air.

Once the dust began to settle, Shun emerged from the wreckage his appearance was a mess, his hair was in disarray and his clothes were badly scratched.

This blow created a large crater and a shockwave that sent all the kangaroos flying, including their leader.

*Damn it, if I didn't control the air currents well I could have broken my leg* thought Shun as he got out of the crater.

He felt pain in his leg that luckily by compressing air served as a shield that increased its hardness.

After a few seconds, he was able to get a better look at the kangaroos' situation. He was very surprised by what he saw, all the kangaroos except the leader were lying on the ground dead with large wounds on their bodies.

*I didn't think this attack is so powerful...* Shun thought with his eyes rolling.

Also, this attack turned out to be much more difficult than the previous ones, it was no joke to spin at such speed in the air using not only the strength of the body but the air currents.

*Please don't get up* thought Shun as he watched the body of the kangaroo leader. A few seconds passed and he did not move, when he thought he was already dead, the body reacted and with difficulty got up.

It could be seen that the body of the leader of the kangaroos had many wounds caused by the explosion.

The kangaroo seemed to find it difficult to stand, yet its eyes were full of fury at Shun. This was normal since this pre-teen exterminated his entire herd, leaving only himself alive.

With his last strength, he launched himself straight at Shun ready for a fight to the death.

*Tsch there is no other choice* thought Shun as he raised his guard and concentrated compressed air in his fists creating a grayish glove on both of them.

Currently, the only thing he could fight with was his fists, he no longer had the strength to create an air blade or a cutting wind.

The leader of the kangaroos hit Shun who noticed that his blow was much faster than the other kangaroos despite being so badly wounded.

Shun managed to dodge the blow that grazed his cheek causing him a cut without caring about the pain, he hit the kangaroo's chest.

As this kangaroo was over 2 meters tall, Shun could not aim at its face with his short stature. The kangaroo used his forearm to block Shun's punch which had the same speed as his punches.

His decision was wrong as this was not a normal punch, when Shun's fist impacted on the kangaroo's forearm it created a shockwave that echoed in the air. However, the kangaroo was not thrown backward as expected. Instead, its forearm resisted the impact with impressive resilience, thanks in part to its physical strength and endurance.

The kangaroo grunted, its hind legs entrenched in the ground as it struggled to maintain its position. But then, the true consequence of the concentration of the compressed air in the Shun first became apparent. The air contained in the glove burst out in a violent release of energy, creating an explosion that seemed to expand in all directions.

BANG!

The shock wave resulting from the explosion swept the kangaroo away with unstoppable force. The animal was thrown backward, its powerful mass unable to resist the sudden release of energy. It hit the ground with a dull thud, rolling and tumbling before finally coming to a stop.

The grayish glove slowly vanished from Shun's gasping fist, in this blow he had concentrated much more compressed air to finish the kangaroo faster.

The kangaroo struggled to its feet, its figure now more wobbly and its gaze less defiant. Shun mustered the last of his strength and pulled his knife from his waist and threw it at the kangaroo. Just as he was about to reach him, he increased his speed creating a current of air that propelled it through the forehead of the kangaroo leader who, due to his fatal wounds, could not dodge the knife.

Finally, the kangaroo leader died and his body fell to the ground lifeless. Shun saw this and sighed in relief and also fell to the ground breathing with difficulty, "Damn... uf... this fight was harder than the lion fight" said Shun with difficulty.

As he was catching his breath he heard the sound of footsteps, knowing who it was without even observing. It was Po the duck who upon seeing Shun's appearance became concerned and approached him.

"Cuack! Cuack!" exclaimed Po in a worried tone.

"I'm... fine don't worry" said Shun noticing Po's concern.

After about 5 minutes he got up with some difficulty and climbed onto Po's back. Luckily he had him otherwise he would have to rest a lot more and would be in danger in case some beast decided to attack him.

"Let's go home" Shun said in a weak tone he had spent all his energy on this fight. He underestimated the battle power that 15 kangaroos had and especially the strength of their leader.

Po quickly began his return journey, going at a moderate pace. Shun decided to leave the kangaroo's body as he did not have the strength to take it back to his cave and besides, there was a long way to go to reach the cave.

After several minutes they arrived at the cave, and Shun climbed down from Po and collapsed on his makeshift bed with some grasses and herbs, it was not the most comfortable, but it was better than the cold cave floor.

"Thank you..." said Shun to Po, if it wasn't for this duck getting here would have been very difficult as he spent all his energies in this fight and it might have even been dangerous to his life.

"Quack!" exclaimed Po in a happy tone as he lay down close to Shun.

In the next few days Shun was left alone training less time than before and without fighting wild beasts rested a bit from so many fights. He dedicated himself more to improving his house or cave to make it somehow more comfortable since he will stay there for some time.

His luck he got a new friend who was Po, although he was not a human they understood each other very well, and his intelligence was very high. Besides, Shun never socialized much and only talked to his mother, brother, and old Matsumoto.

So he found it easier to get along with an animal like Po and could trust him.

Living in the poorer and lawless areas of the Frauce Kingdom made Shun a cautious character and he did not trust people, except for his close circle. At any time he could be stabbed in the back just for stealing food or the few belongings he owned, so it was easier to trust an animal.

It even took him several years to trust old Matsumoto.

Such was Shun's days, training without failing once and going to fight more powerful beasts so that he could test his new strength every day. Po would follow Shun everywhere and help Shun flee when they faced a beast stronger than him or encountered large herds of beasts.

Time passed quickly.
