Nicholas gazed down the bustling corridor of the mall as he waited for Grace. He couldn't help but feel a bit apprehensive.
He had left her to take a call while she shopped for the bag she desired, and of course at his expense.
As he stood there waiting, Mike's cryptic words about Grace's dating life echoed in his mind. There was something about the whole thing that made him uneasy, and he hoped Grace would be open to talking about it.
As Grace approached, a Louis Vuitton shopping bag dangling from her arm, a triumphant grin spread across her face.
"Mission accomplished?" Nicholas asked, raising an eyebrow at the bag.
"Indeed," she replied, handing back his card, a satisfied glint in her eyes. "So, what's this new restaurant you were talking about?"
"It's called Alchemy, but I was thinking since we're already here we should just eat here. What do you say?"
"It's fine by me," she shrugged and glanced at her phone when it buzzed, her smile faltering slightly.
