Reginald PoV
I smiled as my kids ate across the table. Sel was chewing with her tiny teeth. Whenever she got to a piece of meat, she would shake her head like a dog trying to rip into fresh prey, her straight dark hair whipping wildly back and forth across her chubby cheeks.
"Selena, manners," Tuli warned with a soft chuckle, though she didn't bother hiding the amusement curving her lips. "You're a girl at the dinner table right now, not a wild hound out in the brush."
Sel gave one last ferocious tug, swallowing the shred of meat with a triumphant little gulp before grinning up at her mother with broth dripping from her chin.
I laughed. "That's my puppy," I said, reaching across to wipe a wayward streak of juice off her cheek with the pad of my thumb. "Tearing into her food like she hunted it down in the tall grass herself."
Sel barked and stuck out her little tongue, forgetting she wasn't in her puppy form anymore.
Tuli sighed. "Reginald, stop encouraging her."
