Helena didn't know what to think of her current situation. She watches as Adam leaves her behind with Ellie to discuss the future.
He didn't rat her out, nor did he screw Ellie over, so this left her confused, wondering what Adam could possibly want.
If he wanted money, he could have screwed Ellie over, and if he wanted Ellie, he could have ratted her out and proven himself as a morally good man who won't let injustice fall upon Ellie.
But instead, Adam gets her removed from the restaurant's business.
"I am sorry, Helena. I didn't want to do this, but..." Ellie speaks up, trying to justify her choice. "Don't worry, I completely understand. Your restaurant is no longer just your concern. You have a partner," Helena says, trying to act as an understanding friend.
