Julia can feel it, something crawling under her skin, telling her that what is about to come is something she is not ready to handle.
She knows this because of the change in Adam's gaze.
Before, Adam was looking at her with a mocking gaze, which also carried lust and desire for her, but as he held her head in his hands and stared down into her eyes with intensity, all Julia could feel was a gaze of a predator who had been hungry for ages and now had its sight set on her.
That mocking, smug look has disappeared, replaced with one of intense craving.
Julia has never seen Adam like this.
Adam's someone who always seems to be in control, someone who always has his emotions on hold, someone who can keep calm in chaotic situations, but right now it looks like he has let go of that hold and allowed what he is feeling and thinking to take over his actions.
Adam slowly gets up from his chair, standing tall before Julia, allowing his massive presence to loom over her.
