Atticus stood alone in the midst of melted corpses.
Their bodies had been burned beyond recognition. One side of their faces had melted into a warped mass, while the other remained intact enough to show the twisted, horrified expression frozen at the moment of their agony.
It was as if the fire had preserved their final scream.
Atticus had meant every word. The man he suspected was responsible for everything, Emberion, laid dead beneath him. While the others suffered in their own right, Atticus had taken his time on Emberion.
The feeling of having every cell in one's body slowly burn could not be imagined. Emberion's screams had pierced the earth, yet they did nothing to stop Atticus.
'This is all of them.'
Atticus exhaled hot steam, feeling his rousing emotions settle. The need for retribution had made him act without much thought, yet he didn't regret even a second of it.
They deserved everything they received.
'Hm.'
