Joanna Lawrence and Ashton Heath had just stepped out of the elevator when they saw a group of middle-aged men in suits and shoes running towards them. They stopped in front of Joanna and Ashton.
They were panting, obviously having rushed over in a hurry.
Seeing Ashton Heath, they all respectfully called out, "President Ashton."
"President Ashton, why didn't you tell us in advance that you were coming? We could have come to greet you." The lead middle-aged man, who looked to be in his forties, was the epitome of middle-aged men with a round appearance and a bulging belly, and his hairline had receded like the Mediterranean.
These people were all mall executives.
Ashton Heath had made the decision to come on the spur of the moment, and since it wasn't for work-related matters, he hadn't informed anyone.
As a result, they had no idea the president had arrived.
