She hurried over to Joanna Lawrence and Ashton Heath.
"Ashton, wait a moment, I have something to say to you," Rebecca Kelloway called out to Heath.
Ashton heard, but did not stop. He still held Joanna's arm and continued walking out.
"Ashton!" Seeing that Heath ignored her entirely, Rebecca's face crumbled. Wearing high heels, she hot-pursued him, her annoyance palpable.
Soon, she caught up.
"Ashton, you're really ignoring me now, aren't you? Won't you even talk to me?"
Heath refused to acknowledge her, so Rebecca rushed in front of him to block his way, preventing him from moving forward.
Ashton finally stopped, looked down, and coldly said to her, "I have nothing to say to you, move out of my way."
This wasn't the first time he'd treated her so coldly.
Ever since their relationship had soured thoroughly, whenever they met, Ashton treated her with icy indifference, like a stranger.
Rebecca thought she should have grown used to it by now.
