Chapter 998 - Chapter 998 : It Felt Like She Had Invited A Wolf Into Her Home

"Why are you sleeping here?" Ming Yutong asked, her emotions a mix of surprise and something she couldn't quite define.

Seeing Fu Yinxiu sleeping at her bedroom door was unexpected and strange. It was as if he had become part of the furniture, but certainly not like a dog waiting at the door.

Fu Yinxiu quickly scrambled out of the blanket, rubbing his face to wake up fully. "I just wanted to stay close to you," he explained, his voice still a bit groggy.

His usual sharp gaze was now softened, almost vulnerable, as if the morning light had made him appear more approachable and less intimidating.

Ming Yutong was momentarily dazed by the sight of him.

His expression was so unlike his usual self that it seemed like he had a metaphorical tail wagging behind him.

"I can't sleep if you're far away. Even though there's a door between us, knowing you're just behind it makes me feel like I'm keeping watch over you," Fu Yinxiu said, flashing a hopeful smile.

He hesitated, then inched closer to Ming Yutong, trying to subtly nudge his arm against hers.

Ming Yutong tried to process the situation but felt a mix of confusion and irritation. Was he really trying to flirt while he was lying at her door?

Seeing Fu Yinxiu's pleased, almost childlike expression, Ming Yutong felt a surge of determination. She took a step back, avoiding his touch.

"Fu Yinxiu, are you planning to stay on the floor every day?" she asked, incredulously.

Fu Yinxiu's face lit up. "I would love to," he said earnestly, "If I could, I would stay here every night."

Ming Yutong was at a loss.

Who would willingly sleep on the floor every day?

"I'm going to make breakfast," she said, trying to shift the focus.

Fu Yinxiu immediately followed, "I'll do it. You just get ready."

Before Ming Yutong could protest, he was already in the kitchen, rummaging through cabinets and taking stock of the supplies.

He noted the placement of bowls and condiments, and even checked the refrigerator.

Ming Yutong, who had lived alone for a while, was used to her own cooking routine, but seeing Fu Yinxiu handle her kitchen so efficiently was surprising.

Fu Yinxiu pulled out bread, eggs, and a box of cherry tomatoes he found in the fridge.

He looked back at Ming Yutong with a smile.

"Surprised at my proficiency?" he asked, turning off the stove before walking toward her.

Ming Yutong averted her gaze, feeling awkward.

"Yes," she replied softly.

Fu Yinxiu sighed with relief, then approached her, and Ming Yutong instinctively took a step back.

Although she used to resist his closeness, now she only felt a heightened sense of nervousness.

Ming Yutong felt her heartbeat quicken as she experienced a sense of déjà vu in Fu Yinxiu's presence.

His nearness was overwhelming, stirring old, unbidden emotions.

She tried to step back, to distance herself from the intensity of the moment, but Fu Yinxiu's long arm reached out and drew her in, holding her firmly.

His hand rested on her lower back, feeling the delicate curve of her waist.

The contour of Ming Yutong's spine, though slightly curved, made his hand fit perfectly against her slender figure.

Despite having given birth to Little Jingshi, her figure remained remarkably slim, a testament to the hardships she had endured, which had left her physique notably thin.

Fu Yinxiu's heart ached as he felt the softness of her waist.

He pressed her closer to him, unable to contain the rising heat within him.

The contact with her body was intense, causing him to press even more firmly.

As he pressed against her, Ming Yutong felt a surge of heat and discomfort, especially as his body pressed into her lower abdomen.

The sensation was as if she were being seared, a fiery, intrusive pressure that made her gasp.

Fu Yinxiu, unable to control his rising desire, pressed her even tighter against him.

He closed his eyes momentarily, trying to steady his breath.

The intimacy of the situation, with his body pressed closely to hers, had become too overwhelming.

In a decisive move, he pushed her gently but firmly against the wall, his intent clear.

Ming Yutong's world seemed to narrow to the space between them, her senses overloaded by the closeness and the heat emanating from him.

The room, once a sanctuary of normalcy, was now charged with an electrifying tension.

Ming Yutong's initial surprise and discomfort were mingled with a growing sense of helplessness, as Fu Yinxiu's actions left her pinned and breathless.

With a stretch of his long arm, he effortlessly closed the kitchen door.

Ming Yutong: "..."

It felt like she had invited a wolf into her home.

Fu Yinxiu lowered his head and buried his face in her neck.

Ming Yutong had just woken up, and she was fresh from her morning routine, carrying a clean fragrance. Her soft, long hair was spread out, emitting a gardenia scent. Even the scent of her hair was making him restless.

Fu Yinxiu took a deep breath, struggling to control himself.

Sensing Ming Yutong's resistance, Fu Yinxiu lowered his hoarse voice and said, "Don't move."

He inhaled deeply and exhaled, his breath hot.

"Tong Tong, don't move, just bear with me for a moment, okay? I'll be fine soon. Just let me hold you for a little while, just a little while." Fu Yinxiu whispered, "I won't do anything."

Ming Yutong involuntarily tightened her abdomen.

But with him holding her so tightly, she couldn't escape anywhere.

Even though she tried her best to tighten her abdomen, she was still pressed tightly against him, and it didn't help at all.

Ming Yutong's heart was racing faster and faster, to the point where she felt she might not be able to bear it.

She didn't dare move at all, even holding her breath.

And she couldn't understand why she was holding her breath.

Her nervous mind went blank intermittently, unable to think at all.

She could still feel his scorching breath passing through her hair, landing on her neck, sending shivers through her skin and making her tremble uncontrollably.

"Whenever I have time, I practice cooking at home," Fu Yinxiu's hoarse voice said, still tense. "Just like how you wanted to cook for Little Jingshi, I have the same idea. I think that at some point, I might have the chance to cook for you myself, not just make soup for you."

"I think that for the opportunity that may come at an unknown time, I need to prepare early, so that when the opportunity arises, I won't be unprepared." Fu Yinxiu's lips were pressed against Ming Yutong's hair.
