Chapter 25 - Chapter 25

A day later...

Seated on a wingback chair was the son of Baron Dalton, Morbius having difficulty calming his ocean of emotions,

" FUUCK!" he raged, " BANG!" slamming the tabletop he stood up flinging the sheets of papers. " That rat, I'm gonna kill him. HOW DARE HE." Marcius raged. Grabbing a bottle he poured a drink, the fragrant smell of Oclio nut littered the room.

Leaning back on the chair, " What do I do now?" Marbius muttered, Nathaniel had escaped but he was forced to send soldiers nonetheless. His strongest knights had went. He wanted the treasure.

It was forced gamble, he looked at the enchanted sword as his muscles pulsed in anger, he wanted a release.

He stared at the ceiling of the office, small illumination orbs embedded in the chandelier, " Haa, let me--" His words we cut short as a drop of blood bloodied his collar, a line extended across his neck as blood flowed his frantic eyes losing their luster, amidst the visage of shadows one materialized as Rose looked at the corpse of Morbius.

A fire ball burnt his corpse, charred remained colored the leather chair some part black.

" Its done. How boring its not even a challenge." Rose wiped blood of the black thread invisible to the unsuspecting eye. She longed for combat. " Maybe I should really join Black Aegis. How long has it been since I heard my name. I long for his majesty to call me by my real name." Her hair flowed gently in the wind as the stood atop the mansion. Longing marred her face.

" I'm still took weak." She muttered, she absorbed blood but in Mergard they were few to no bloodline species so the blood purity was low. She wanted to become a progenitor of her species. A vampire lord, she had ascended to a pure blooded vampire from a dhampir.

She could sense her bloodline restrictions, a bigger, taller and higher mountain than before. Standing to the gentle breeze of the night.

she recalled a memory, a night , of a moment she would never forget. Her heart pumped fiercer and stronger.

" Lord, please spare my mother. Please!"

" I like you begging, yes this is just RIGHT." Fangs traced on the pale nape of a female dhampir as her pulse hastened, " Ahhh, how unsightly." Her urine drenching the ground yet his grin grew wider, salivating even further. " PLEASE." The young voice cried one more.

The woman could only whimper, staying still " SHhhh." Long black nails touched her pale face, pricking slightly her skin.

Whimpering murmurs came from the kneeling villagers as they trembled. Viera wanted to rush to her mother yet a firm hand held her in place. " Lord, please spare them. They are your people. " The man who held Viera back pleaded with pure blooded vampire count.

" Yes, my people. MINE to do as I wish village head. Quite the integrity you have, watch as I feast on them one by one." Vlad La Sandor said as he grinned his tongue licking the nape of Viera's mother.

Viera held her breath scared, frustrated yet most of all unwilling. She knew they were dhampir, lesser vampires playthings of the pure blooded vampires yet she was unwilling. " Anyone please, anybody please save my mom!" Tears fell as she relented to her fears. Many of the kneeling dhampirs felt anguish, their eyes of hatred averted to the ground.

Vlad's eyes riddled without mercy as he gnawed at her mother's nape. " no....No, NOO! Please take me, I will go. Just please let my mother go!" Viera kneeled pleading.

" How unsightly." Two words then...

Bang! Bang! Magic missiles around a meter swerved rapidly avoiding the woman only to smash into a blood red barrier.

Vlad was blasted backwards, " WHO DARES?!" He roared, he wiped traces of blood. Smoke blocked the fountain as the dhampirs ran fear stricken.

"Titan's fist." The ground formed a fist headed for the count. " Don't fuck with me!" Vlad roared releasing a volley of arrows. Blood arrows burned crimson as they clashed with the fist.

" BOOM!" Blood magic and element clashed destroying the small city of dhampirs.

" You are a tough one aren't ya?" The attacker chuckled, he looked at the destruction, ' Mana sense.' " There is a canyon a few miles from here." He mumbled.

" Earth magic; Planetary inversion!" Magic surged viciously and vividly, banishing the darkness.

" Wha--" Vlad about to attack when he was swallowed by the cracks on the ground, instantly within the canyon he resurfaced. Rocks rolled down due to the tremors.

Blood aura formed gauntlets on his fists, he was shocked but turned to the presence of the new arrival.

" Who are you?" Vlad asked baring his fangs.

" Crack, crack." Rocks formed gauntlets on the enemy.

Vlad put his guard, ' He is strong and has good awareness.' He brought up his fits.

The ground caved in as he leaped, Linnaeus closed in dodging the massive force behind Vlad's fist. He punched the ribs, his muscles flexing alone ripped the sleeves of his robe.

Bang. Vlad felt like hurling his guts. ' Shit he is stronger than me, faster too.' Vlad was blasted back.

He backflipped skidding to a stop, red blood armor cover his body and as if taunting Linnaeus covered his body in earth armor as well.

" Lets go." Linnaeus roared. His armor turned darker brown, he leaped instantly appearing behind Vlad, blood needles rained down on Linnaeus. Vlad retreated roaring, " Dark magic; Eternal darkness!" "Blood manifestation; Blood Familiars!" A dozen red eyes ran forward some flying as Vlad followed. His crimson armor pulsing a shade lighter than before.

" Earth magic; Guardian." Six 3 meter earth golems wearing knight armor surrounded Linnaeus as he braced for the fight ahead. They looked like a fortress, each guardian wielded a weapon along with a shield.

"Go." Linnaeus ordered, giant Iron bats brandished their talons against the shields of the guardians.

" Come!" Vlad roared, he kicked forward as shadow wolves attacked. Earth daggers manifested in Linnaeus' hands as he charged.

The canyon shook as the fight grew more intense threatening to bury the titans fighting below.

Vlad's vampiric knights searched frantically for the master, " Over there!" They exclaimed as the aura of blood magic covered miles around the canyon.

Transforming into bats they rushed forward breaking the sound barrier.

Within the canyon...

" You are not bad for a vampire count." Linnaeus said holding onto a bloodline source, blood dripped visible from the count back as gaping hole was on his chest. " Though that is considering the lower planets." Linnaeus turned, looking at the sky blood red shooting stars approached headed for Vlad but they were too late.

" Lowe-cough-r planets." Vlad's corpse turned to ash as blood magic ran out failing to regenerate.

" I better collect what I'm owed." Linnaeus said recalling the young girl, her promise and his purpose to conquer the lower worlds. " This is where it begins." He shot forward towards the vampiric guards.

At the top of Morbius's manor, Rose vanished along with the flush of memories.

The following day...

The hooves of horses planted themselves at the gate of Rosewood village.

" What's wrong captain?" Asked the chubby youth.

" Something is wrong, lets hurry to the young lord's manor. " The captain said with urgency. There were no guards at the gate and a mass of villagers was rushing to the square.
