Chapter 805 - Chapter 804: Caught

Skye angrily said, "If they have no other target, they'll keep hunting you down. And why did you hack S.H.I.E.L.D.?"

Miles Lydon, unconcerned, replied, "Because that's what we do."

Skye glared at him and said, "You shouldn't have done that while I'm inside. You could ruin everything, you idiot."

Miles looked at her and said, "Seems like you're handling it just fine."

"I've made significant progress, and you can't just—"

Noticing the way Miles was looking at her, Skye asked, "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Miles stepped closer and gently said, "You just called me an idiot."

"Don't laugh, I'm serious."

He continued, "I taught you everything you know. If I'm an idiot, then what are you?"

Skye shot back, "No, you didn't."

With a tender look, Miles said, "Sorry, I couldn't help it. I've missed you like crazy."

With that, he pulled Skye into his arms, and the two began kissing passionately.

Before long, they were pulling each other's clothes off, and Miles lifted Skye into his arms, carrying her to the bed. What followed was a lengthy, physical connection that lasted for a considerable time.

After the intense encounter, Skye sat up in bed, adjusting her bra strap. She took out a SIM card from her bra, glanced at it, and then put it back into the hidden pocket.

Miles, lying beside her, asked, "You're really keeping it there?"

Skye laughed, "It beats getting caught red-handed."

Miles then asked, "Any progress on that thing?"

"I'm still looking into it, but you've made it a lot harder with your stunt."

She looked around the room and asked, "Where's my shirt?"

Miles offered, "I can help. If you send me the encrypted files, I can study the algorithm or something..."

Skye turned to him, her expression serious, "No. I can't be in contact with you."

"I shouldn't have reached out to you in the first place. There's a S.H.I.E.L.D. team looking for you right now."

"My teammates—if they suspect me, I'm screwed."

Miles leaned closer to Skye and said, "I'm trying hard not to make a joke, but you're talking about getting 'screwed.'"

Skye couldn't help but laugh but quickly regained her composure, "Stop it."

"What you did this time didn't just tick off S.H.I.E.L.D., you might have angered the ninja as well. I have to get back."

"If you really want to help, find my clothes."

With that, Skye stood up from the bed, wearing only her underwear. Miles quickly jumped out of bed and grabbed her wrist, "I'm really sorry, Skye."

"If I've caused trouble, I didn't mean to. I've missed you so much."

Looking into his eyes, Skye nodded, "I missed you too."

"But we talked about this before I left for L.A. This is my chance. Don't mess with S.H.I.E.L.D., okay?"

Miles sighed and nodded. "Alright."

Skye turned to search for her clothes. Miles, still watching her, asked, "At least tell me—what's it like? You're deep inside enemy territory."

Skye smiled and replied, "Surprisingly... friendly."

Skye added, "The people I work with are all good people."

Miles Lydon found Skye's jeans on the floor and tossed them to her, saying, "There must be some exciting stories, right?"

Skye caught the pants and, while putting them on, smiled and replied, "Miles, you can't even imagine, but it's all classified information."

Miles chuckled, "I can't believe you're saying that. You have to tell me something."

Skye, now fully dressed, smiled again, "Maybe later."

Miles added, "If they ever give you a vacation, let me know. I'll book a suite and wait for you."

"Find a fancy hotel with a suite, and you can tell me stories while you're... wearing nothing."

Thinking about Miles' financial situation, Skye laughed, "A suite? You? That's hilarious."

"But if I don't find my shirt soon, there won't be any vacation."

With that, Skye opened the bedroom door to head to the living room to find her shirt. However, as soon as the door opened, she froze.

Standing right at the door was Agent May, holding Skye's shirt. It was clear May had overheard everything.

May's expression was cold as she handed Skye her shirt, saying, "Put it on. Now."

In Miles Lydon's room, both Skye and Miles were now fully dressed, with May keeping a close watch on him.

The rest of the team had arrived—Fitz and Simmons were analyzing data, while Coulson was flipping through some documents.

Skye, sitting on the couch, glanced at Coulson and started to speak, "I know this looks like—"

Before she could finish, Coulson cut her off with a gesture for silence.

Once Coulson had finished reviewing the documents, he turned to Skye and asked, "How long have you two been in contact?"

Skye replied, "Just once when I joined, to tell him I was okay, and then earlier today."

Coulson's face remained emotionless as he asked, "So you warned a suspect?"

Skye shook her head, "It's not what you think. Miles and I... When we met, things were rough."

"No, actually, he was a mess. I was a complete disaster."

"But we always looked out for each other, so I gave him a heads-up. Not because we're accomplices, but because we're... friends."

"I'm really sorry."

Coulson's expression didn't change, "I see. If it wasn't you, then who's Lydon working with?"

"No one. He's an idealist. He believes in information freedom."

Coulson stated, "Someone used this information to connect with the Sound Ninja Village, and you ruined our chance to contain the situation."

Skye quickly defended herself, "No, I came here to see how much Miles knows about the ninjas."

Coulson looked at her, "And what did you find?"

"Nothing. He knows nothing. Miles isn't a threat."

Coulson turned away, unconvinced, and said, "We'll see."

Skye hastily added, "Really, I was trying to find every clue I could to help you."

"I just couldn't be completely honest with you."
