The little boy looked speechless at the pretty little girl who had suddenly appeared, really wanting to tell her that the world wasn't as simple as she thought.
"Little brother, let's run away."
"Big brother!" the little boy insisted.
"Alright, big brother. Big brother, let's run away."
"My leg is broken; I can't run," the little boy said calmly.
Curly looked down at the boy's leg, which was twisted strangely. It was indeed broken.
"Did those people break your leg?"
"Yeah."
Curly clenched her little fists. "That's too much!" she said, filled with indignation. "I'll go tell my dad, and he'll avenge you!"
...
"My dad is so amazing, so strong, no one can beat him!" Curly said, her face full of admiration, then whispered, "But, my dad is a bit afraid of his wife."
"You should leave."
"What about you?"
"My dad will come to rescue me."
Curly furrowed her little brow and remained silent for a moment, staring at his leg. Her eyes soon began to water.
