"Adolph, it's not your place to dictate my affairs!"
"When my father was alive, even he couldn't interfere with who I wanted to marry!"
Adrian Desmond's voice suddenly rang out, scaring Adolph so much his legs nearly gave out.
"Si-Sixth Master..." Adolph stammered. It really isn't right to gossip about others behind their backs. Sure enough, I've been caught red-handed this time.
"Sixth Master, just now..." Adolph began, trying to organize his thoughts and figure out how to explain his earlier words to Adrian. But when he looked up, he saw Adrian had already walked away.
Adolph instantly felt he was in deep trouble. "Mr. Xavier," he lamented, "after all our years of friendship! I've taken such good care of you, yet when Sixth Master came in, you didn't even give me a heads-up. Now I've said the wrong thing and upset Sixth Master."
Mr. Xavier looked completely innocent. "Old brother, I did try to warn you. You just didn't hear me. Who can you blame?"
