Adrian walked over and coaxed his daughter alongside his wife, "Claire, don't be scared. Daddy chased that bad boy away."
"..."
"Look, he's gone, isn't he?"
Claire's face was awash with tears, as if she couldn't be more pitiful, her small body still trembling, resembling a mouse scared by a cat.
"Wah..."
Adrian cradled his daughter, and Claire clung tightly to the fabric of Adrian's shirt in front of his chest. She timidly glanced at the spot where Kevin had stood earlier. Realizing Kevin was gone, she quickly looked around to confirm his departure before resuming her sobbing.
"What are you scared of? Would Daddy let anyone bully you?" Adrian gently wiped away her tears with his thumb.
"What happened?" Sienna asked curiously.
"Claire remembers the one who hurt her," Adrian replied.
"You mean Claire remembers Kevin kidnapping her?"
Sienna was incredulous. Claire was so young at the time, how could she remember anything?
"Yes."
