As those words fell, Derek walked over to Matthew, supported his arm, and said in a subdued voice, "Dad, Adam is still young after all, he doesn't understand, don't take it too seriously."
His words might as well not have been said.
Matthew's fury peaked in an instant, "Young? He's almost thirty, still young?"

Besides, Derek was not much older than Adam.
