"Get out--!" Joshua Sulliven hurled the lunchbox from the headboard across the room.
Zachary Armstrong calmly dodged it, approaching with a grin. "Looks like someone's frustrations are running high today."
Joshua averted his gaze, choosing to ignore him, while Keira Leaf lacked the mood to exchange banter as well.
Zachary took a seat by the bedside, gazing at Keira's pallid small face. He couldn't help but shake his head and remark, "Tsk tsk, how pitiful. Losing a perfectly fine child just like that. I wonder if saving someone else's kid truly feels worth it."
Keira's face paled even further. She pressed her lips tightly together, saying nothing.
As though suddenly struck by a thought, Zachary changed his tone. "Although... maybe it wasn't such a fine child to begin with, hmm? Almost forgot—weren't you previously injected with drugs? When you think about it, losing it doesn't seem all that regrettable."
Keira dropped her gaze, remaining silent. Not regrettable?
