Finally, after copying several test papers, Emily Simpson couldn't help herself and went to knock on the next-door neighbor's door.
After knocking a few times, the door was opened.
Lorne Noah Jackson, wearing a simple white T-shirt and loose, light grey shorts, was drying his hair with a towel in one hand while holding the door handle with the other.
Seeing Emily, who was wearing pajamas, standing outside the door, he couldn't help but size her up a few times.
"Come in," he said, tossing off the remark before turning and heading back into his room.
Emily was taken aback, pausing in the doorway. She glanced left and right before following him in with a covert thrill, then quietly shut the door.
"What is it?" Lorne asked as he wiped his short hair, then tossed the towel aside and turned to look at her.
His hair was still a bit damp... and a few spots on his white T-shirt were wet as well.
