Angela Summer stood by the window with her arms crossed, her brow tightly furrowed, staring intently at the bed, her face tense, lips pursed.
It seemed as though she had seen them at the door, but she had no reaction. Aldana Candi let out a slight sigh of relief, pulling Ellen Candi in with her.
As she walked in, she felt a pair of eyes fixed on her back. In that instant, her biological instinct made her hair stand on end, goosebumps rising on the back of her hand.
Her face turned pale, as if her heartbeat had ceased. It took a good while for her to react and see Ellen's worried eyes in front of her. Ellen touched her arm, "Aldana, what's wrong? Cold?"
Aldana hesitated for a moment, and turned her head. Behind her, doctors and nurses were still gathered around the bed taking notes. The gaze that made her feel like she was in an ice cellar had vanished. She glanced around in confusion, slowly withdrawing her gaze, and shook her head at Ellen: "I'm fine..."
