"Cruel?" James Black retorted with a question, "Do you dislike her?"
"Dislike, and very much so." Jane Sampson gave James Black a very definitive answer without a doubt.
James Black, of course, knew that if it weren't for the extreme dislike, given her temperament, she wouldn't have been driven to the point of hugging him and softly and tenderly calling him husband in front of Jillian Carter that evening.
"Since you first met Jillian Carter, how many times has she gone against you?" James Black asked, "Do you still remember clearly?"
One has to admit that Jillian Carter's tactics are indeed effective. Even now, there are still some things that they haven't found evidence for, but the lack of evidence doesn't mean that Jane Sampson isn't clear in her heart about who is responsible for those things.
Jane Sampson shook her head, "There are so many I can hardly count."
