"I just happened to review the first few episodes. Frankly speaking, there are a few episodes where Jillian Carter's performance is barely watchable, but her acting is heavily marked by mimicry. Once those parts pass, her acting skills are genuinely unwatchable," Old Young said. "I figure that after Jillian Carter joined the film crew, she definitely watched the scripts you, Jane Sampson, performed, and then mimicked you to play the role."
"Huh?" Jane Sampson didn't quite understand.
"However, back then the filming set started not long before you terminated your contract with the film crew, so the parts Jillian Carter could mimic were very limited. Without a reference to mimic, she really couldn't bring out the character's vivacity," Old Young, who had worked with Jane Sampson before, knew some of her acting details and habits as a director.
