Jillian Carter picked up a vegetable with chopsticks for James Carter, laughing, "I don't feel guilty spending the money you gave me, but spending Joseph Shaw's money, I feel guilty."
After speaking, Jillian Carter looked over at Jane Sampson, as if seeking her support, and asked, "Jane, don't you agree? You married James Black; do you spend his money? Probably not, right?"
Jillian Carter seemed eager for an affirmative answer from Jane Sampson, so before Jane spoke, she shook Jane's arm.
Jane Sampson glanced at James Carter, instinctively reached out to touch the hairpin on her hair, then the bracelet on her wrist.
Her voice showed not the slightest hint of guilt as she replied, "Oh, I spend it, and spend it hard, with all my might. The more I spend, the happier he gets."
